Well kept, simple, quick 9
Course is well maintained which is it's best attribute. The layout is a little boring. Many holes are very similar to one another. It's a lot of par 4s lined up parallel to one other with wide open fairways and limited hazards. Good course for beginners. A few holes have a little elevation change, which is a nice change of pace when compared to the mostly flat courses in Chicagoland. Favorite hole was the par 3 hole #6 that crosses over the Chicago River. It's one of the few times water comes into play. If they have a signature hole, I would consider that it. No GPS on the carts, but they do have charging ports. They have a nice clubhouse with bar and grill, but no breakfast options. Small fenced in putting green with very little room for chipping. Didn't see a drink cart during the round.
The best around has gotten better
The course is in the best shape I have ever seen it. Still popular and busy, but pace moves as best as can be expected with your fair share of beginners out there given the shorter holes. Greens had always been on the slower side, but have improved since last visit and are rolling even better. Hands down, best 9 hole around.
Quick Round
Mid afternoon round. Pace was great. Course in great condition. Enjoyable round.
Tam O'Shanter
Fun course. I got there early on a Sunday, pace of play was good. By the time I had finished and had a drink at the Howard Street Inn, it looked like the tee times were backing up a bit at the 1st tee (around 1 pm). Pretty well kept and some challenging bunker positions.
Best round
Played my best round of the year here.
Historic course, will test your game.
Great 9 hole course, easy to walk, challenging; well maintained, great staff, a gem.
Cold & Windy
Course was in great condition as were the greens. Pace was good even though there were lots of golfers. The weather was cold and windy but the round was still very enjoyable.
It was fun
We went on a Tuesday morning and pace of play was good. Course was in great condition considering all the rain. We walked with 3 players and were done in just over two hours.
Best 9 hole course in the Chicago area!!
What can I say, but I’m so fortunate to have been playing this course for over 20 years! Always in great conditions, with the nicest people working there and very appreciative to have this close to Chicago. Thank you!! Extremely grateful to Peter the Manager who makes this course the Best in the area with the nicest staff around, always helpful and courteous to every golfer ⛳️
Short Round
Course was in great shape. Pace was good. Enjoyed the round very much.
Top notch
Great short course. Great pub I played a thousand times
Tam - Hidden Gem
Looking to get in 9 holes. I have driven by the course many times and finally got the urge to play it. Shorter par 4s and challenging par 3s. Course was in great shape for being late March. Greens were in great shape rolling true.
It was one of those courses where you feel great after you’ve finished. Friendly staff, enjoyable all the way around.
What more could you ask for to start the season! - course was clean and in great shape for the 2nd day of march. Welcoming staff, pace was good for it being crowded. Still the best 9 hole option around.
