Willow Hill
First time playing here. Decent track. There are improvements being made. The fairways were in good shape, course was managed well. Greens were soft, running fast and true. I know the restaurant is still in the works, but not having any kind of food besides snacks was a bummer. Overall solid, pace of play was great. I will be back
First Impression
No water hazards on the course, but hills provide some lies that challenge. Afternoon pace was fast.
Very nice 9 hole course. Bent grass fairways and challenging greens make the course. Seems like they keep making improvements.
Great staff, decent course, poor value
The good:
Greens were soft but fairly fast and rolled true.
Some nice undulation and fair reads.
Fairways were pretty well maintained but dry.
Pace of play was phenomenal. (Friday 10:50 tee time)
The staff was exceptionally friendly and a nice new clubhouse. Seriously, just great!!
The bad:
The fairways were a bit dry in places. In the midst of a heat wave, so a bit of a pass here.
Rough was very dry but not really what I would call rough. Think more like your backyard. This worked to my benefit as my hit percentage was about 10% this day.
Quite a few pitch marks and divots in the greens and some spotty patches in the fairway.
This is a landfill links style course that has not matured yet, in time could have potential.
Only 9 hole course without secondary tee boxes.
And the big one: cost/value. It was $32 for 9 holes plus $12 for a cart. That equates to an $88 course (for 18) of which this is most definitely not. For that kind of money I expect, well, I expect more. I’ve played quite a few 18 hole tracks for $50-60 that I would consider far superior. I left feeling like this course was priced for what it could become and not what it currently actually is.
Great course with friendly staff/lots of improvements
This course used to be horrible like 10 years ago. This was my first time coming back and wow so much has changed. The clubhouse has changed drastically and supposedly they’re opening a restaurant soon. The course is very well maintained and the greens roll quick. The views of the city are spectacular and all of the staff were super friendly. I will definitely be returning and recommending this to friends.
Great Course/Slow Play
Great course. Well maintained.
Golf Pro/lesson teacher holding up pace of play. If there is a lesson scheduled I would suggest to the course to book 2 tee times to buffer there 5/6 shots per hole and videoing of their student.
Ironically the golf pro reminded me of course etiquette on the first hole, while he proceeded to have his student take 5 swings per shot on each hole.
Outstanding venue for a landfill course
If the phenominal condition of the bunkers is any indication of the quality if improvements planned for this course get your reservations in early.
First Time
First time playing the course and I was satisfied. Tight Fairways and fast greens! Pace was good and staff was friendly.
