All 27 holes are in nice shape
With all the rain Carillon is in very nice shape. No cart restrictions. After playing 18 (red/white) we got in an additional 9 holes on the blue. Everything was well maintained and our two-some enjoyed the afternoon/early evening. When crowded slow play can be an issue at this track...even the Blue 9 which is in this golfers humble opinion is probably the most difficult of the nines (holes 3 and 5) as this Blue nine will take the normal hacker 3 hours plus to play.. When it's not crowded (like our afternoon) you can easily get all 27 in in well under 6 hours. Always a great value if you get a hot deal. Worth playing if you live in Chicagoland at least once a year.
carilon
Played in 3 hours with my dad. Greens were rolling great. Course was wet from all the rain but enjoyed my round. Definitely plan to go back soon.
perfect day
weather was perfect -pace of play was great-course was in great condition-will definitely go back to play the other 9 holes in combination with one of the 9 we played....
good condition slow play
Course and greens were in great shape, but slow play. One hole had four foursomes on the same hole. Rangers did acknowledge and pace of play got better on back nine. Would play again as this was the first time I have ever had slow play at Carrillon.
The course greens were in good conditions
It was very slow golf! Over 5 hours!!
Many people in front of us were betting money on each hole per the ranger who tried 3 times to speed it up.
Good local course
I play Carillon a lot and found a great deal on "Hot Deals." Tough winter so the greens were very thin but I always enjoy this course. Very forgiving,
Best value anywhere
You won't find a nicer course for under $40. We played red to white and it took about 3.5 hours.
Great Value Course
Carillon is an excellent value course. It has the length you would want if you are a longer hitter but has tees forward enough for any golfer. It was early in the season but some of the greens are in rough shape where I moved my ball so that I had a true line.
Good start for the year
It was a lot of fun, the course was good for having that long winter
the course is a great layout
course is in great shape and i love the layout. the holes are just the right length.
Not thrilled
Haven't played this course in a few years and it used to be very nice, but it definitely has dropped off. Greens were full of ball marks and many putts were knocked off line. Sand traps are like playing off gravel they were so hard. I understand that traps are difficult, but to be unable to take sand in a green side bunker is unfair.
This may seem like piling on, but keep the tee times going off as scheduled. If I have a 9:20 tee time, don't send me out at 9:15 because the tee is clear. We shouldn't come to the third hole and be 3 groups deep and then inch along for the rest of the day .
Can't beat it for the price. Also great in the fall due to limited trees.
I have never been dissapointed playing here plus I got a hole in one so that never hurts.
Layout great! Greens need work.
Overall the layout is a really nice one. Appeasing to the eye and well manicured. The greens were bumpy, slow, and full of ball marks. Good putts were short and off-line due to bouncing. It was hard to make putts to say the least. Frustrating!
Great pace of play on a Sunday in the Chicago area
The course was in very good shape. If there is any issue, it is mainly with the bunkers. Some greenside bunkers had too much sand, others had no sand. Fairway bunkers typically had no sand.
It was a pleasure to play in 4 hours and 5 minutes on a Sunday. Any more Chicago golf has become a 5 hour proposition.
well maintained greens
Carrillon has a good maintained course. Staff is friendly, and pace of play is well regulated. They should have more hot deals available online if they want more exposure to the public.
