University Park Golf Club
About
University Park Golf Club (formerly known as University Golf Club & Conference Center) boasts one of the most popular championship courses in the Chicagoland area. The golf course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1962. The original design by Lawrence Packard received an update in 2004 by Greg Martin, but the classic character of the layout still remains. The course wanders across gentle rolling terrain, providing elevated tees and undulating fairways. Water hazards come into play on half the holes, including on the 17th, University Park Golf Club's signature hole. This intimidating par 3 requires a tough carry over water to an elevated green. Miss it and you'll be faced with the nearly impossible task of getting up and down. The difficulty doesn't let up with the final hole, an uphill dogleg par 4 with a sloped, elevated green and water on the right.

Terrible Course Management and Operation
10:30 am tee time on Saturday. Starter was fantastic, but proshop was incompetent. Whoever was doing checkins was telling everyone that morning how he let a group of 24 go out on 3 booked tee times. The course has times every 10 minutes. 8 players every 10 minutes for half an hour. Then they ran out of carts and it jammed up pace even more. Finished the round in close to 5.5 hours. “Ranger” showed up to ask about pace on the 14th hole and didn’t do anything as the group ahead of us reshot each of their shots on every hole
Much improvement from previous years. Still need to work on tee boxes and greens a lot of crabgrass growing in those areas. And my fellow golfers please repair your ball marks pn the greens.
Hidden Gem
For the price you pay on this course, it rivals other south side courses famous for their higher price point, such as Silver Lake, and George Dunne. While it is open , and appears easier on paper, the high winds due to the location can give you a lot of replay value here. I’d certainly recommend this course
its back
course is definitely back to what is was a few years ago. Great pace of play, really good conditions. Only complaint is the greens were rock hard. Throw some water on them and it would be a perfect day.
Good Shape, Good Value
The course was in very good shape. Staff was friendly and helpful. Good value for the money.
Hidden Gem
Fun course- playable in wet/rainy conditions. Other than the inconsistent tee box colors- it’s great! Staff is very friendly, course layout is fun with some challenging par 4’s, great carts with rain covers (which we needed). Their food is a real treat too.
Great fun course.
Had a great time playing this course. Was my first time out for the year so it was rough. Grew up playing across the street at hidden meadows and finally played that course! Would definitely recommend!
Jesus Christ They Fixed The Course
This is the first time I’ve seen this course in great shape in years. GOD bless the greens keeper and new management because they saved this gem.
ITS SAFE TO COME BACK AND PLAY GUYS!!!
