University Park Golf Club
About
University Park Golf Club (formerly known as University Golf Club & Conference Center) boasts one of the most popular championship courses in the Chicagoland area. The golf course has been a local favorite since it first opened in 1962. The original design by Lawrence Packard received an update in 2004 by Greg Martin, but the classic character of the layout still remains. The course wanders across gentle rolling terrain, providing elevated tees and undulating fairways. Water hazards come into play on half the holes, including on the 17th, University Park Golf Club's signature hole. This intimidating par 3 requires a tough carry over water to an elevated green. Miss it and you'll be faced with the nearly impossible task of getting up and down. The difficulty doesn't let up with the final hole, an uphill dogleg par 4 with a sloped, elevated green and water on the right.

Pleasent suprise
The course was in great shape. Reasonably priced. The pace of play was perfect. No waiting and didn't have to rush like George Dunn. I plan on coming back with my friends for anothe enjoyable day at University Golf. Thanks guys.
Nice round
This course can take forever to play. Intentionally got an early tee and it still took 4.5+ hrs. The course is nice and fair. Staff is very friendly. No one there will let u play through and everytime I play it is slow. Don't go expecting a sub 4hr round
Great course to play!!!
Great course to play!!!!! Grounds were well kept. Staff was friendly and overall experience was very good.
Course review
This a gem hidden away.
Challenging fairways and greens.
Staff is extremely courteous and friendly.
Great start to new season .
Could'nt of had a better round on a greater day , the golf gods knew the winter we had in the mid-west.
One of the longest Par 5s
Pretty early in season so green and fairways weren't at their best. However, course was in good shape and I saw maintenance personnel getting the course prime for season. There is a par far on back nine that is just ridiculous. 600 yards. With a 2 club wind, this was almost unfair. But enjoyed the challenge. Overall, good course, good pace of play and great price.
Best value for price
It is a moderate, well-maintained golf course and is only 40 minutes drive from downtown.
Slow foursome
For early season, course was in good shape. Unfortunately, encountered slow foursome that never offered either a twosome or a single the opportunity to play through. Need to review golf etiquette.
Good course
Greens was in great shape. They were rolling good.
it ok for the money
it's not up scale but it's ok for every day course
I will recommend to other's
Course was in great shape for this late in the season
I did not expect the course to play as well as it did with rain overnight and during the morning. It was a nice experience and I will keep this course on my list of places to play again. The hot deal price is the way to play this course.
Nice well maintained course
First time I played. I'll be back with friends. Fun course.
NICE COURSE
This course is well maintained, staff is friendly and attentive.
great value for the money.
a nice and challaging course found myself using every club i had
great gestured
Course in good shape, like course good foHDed the price, food is e excellent!!
Nice layout but in bad shape
Fairways. Have tractor tracks running everywhere , grass in fairway is every length cannot tell where the fairways begin due to poor maintenance
This course has potential to be a great course.
The course had some very challenging holes. Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the greens had been aerated. It would have been beneficial to me to know that. The greens were not fun to putt on.
good deal
let me clarify why i would not recommend this course to my friends
as we are older this course plays very long and seems to have a large group of regulars so it's not the type of course most seniors would enjoy as most of us don't like to slow others down i think this course is better suited for low handicap players 15+ and you'll think most holes play like a par 5 except the par 3's not knocking the course i just found it a little too difficult for me
Maintenance Issues
I have 1 issue with the course maintenance. The day I played, they were aerating the tee boxes on the front 9. They did the whole teeing area and left these big 1/2 inch by 1-1/2 long plugs on the ground, so in order to tee off you would have to stand on all these plugs. They should have had someone clearing off the plugs or done half the tee box at a time.
Competing activities diverting clubhouse resources
Most courses I have played have a beverage/snack cart that circulates. I have now played this course twice both during the week and weekend and no beverage cart. This last time we stopped on the turn and wanted to grab a quick snack but they were setting up for a wedding so we were barely able to get a beer. Given my two experiences here, I guess I really shouldn't complain but just plan to BYO next time. The course was in fine shape for playing.
