Well Kept Greens
Thought the greens and fairways were very well kept and would recommend playing this course to anyone.
Grease Lightning
Course was in great shape. The night before and morning rain had but all disappeared, except in some very low spots on the course. My only CON, these have to be the fastest greens I've putted all year hands down! I'm known for my 3-4 three putts a round. I had that on the first four holes! GREASE LIGHTNING!!!
Teed off at 3:10, made the turn at 5;35, and they were a threesome. Too slow for my taste.
Great track/staff needs help
Deerfield GC was in TOUR shape all summer...fastest greens anywhere...beautiful great fairways...awesome conditions & the layout is as challenging as it gets...
However, both times I’ve played Deerfield this summer the older starter was not only less than friendly but treated everyone in my groups like we were doing him a favor for playing there.
Then a ridiculous rule that we cannot have our cart until 10 minutes b4 our t-time!!! That is a terrible policy since we all like to warn up at the range beforehand...the range is about 300 yards from the 1st tee...no beverage cart either time I played so we all got our gatorades to put in our cart but we had to carry them around in a bag like a hobo until the starter “allowed” us to finally get our cart.
T-time reservations are for a reason...we pre-ordered a cart & there were at least 30 fresh carts waiting...
That policy need to be reviewed...as does the starters less than friendly demeanor...
Nice Course
Great course that play's fast because condition are well maintained.
Good course conditions, shady staff.
I was a single playing with two others that were together and the starter tried to charge me extra for taking my own cart. Didn’t make much sense considering it was only a threesome and the other two were together. The course is in decent shape and played in 3.5 hours despite waiting on a foursome on the front side. Range was “open” but no one there/ no balls.
Diming
They have to charge $5 extra to ride alone in a cart even though there is no one else to pair up with? Otherwise, nice course but not much in the way of food due to covid.
Tight, challenging course
Tight course that rewarded smart club selection. Course was in great shape and was a nice challenge. First time playing it, glad I did, would happily play again.
