Fun track
Awesome starter. Friendly. Makes such a difference.
Course in good shape. Pace was good. Will play many times more
schedule
Was not allowed to book 9 holes. only could book 18. Got to the course 10 minutes ahead of start, was told that because of lightning dely could not tee off for and hour. despite having phone # and e-mail, was not notified of the delay. asked for a refund but was told they could not give me one because i had booked through golf now. waited additional 45 minutes to tee off.
Course in good condition.
Great day. No waiting, enjoyed the round. Tough to read greens!
NiceCourse
Staff is friendly and accommodating
Pace of play was great (4 some played in 3:30)
Greens were in good shape, rolled true , average speed
Fairways in good condition
Tee boxes are not all level
Layout is straight forward , flat
Bunkers a little inconsistent
Value is just ok , can play many courses that are a touch above for same price
Pros - staff, pace of play and greens
Cons - tee box, bunkers , average layout
Refund for 9 holes
We could only manage 9 holes under the extreme conditions (95+ degrees).
We could not go on!
No water to drink on the course or other amenities.
Deerfield Golf Club you would either refund half or give me a a rain check for the nine.
I prefer the former solution.
My confirmation # is 333243194
Thank you, Mike DiMuzio
Deserves another chance
Tee time was at 11:15 for 9 holes and started from the tips on 10. Arrived at the course and was happy to see the practice of social distancing was being done in the parking lot. Every other slot had a cone to separate at parking. Easy check in with starter in the parking lot. Table available for scorecard and pencil. Not sure what the gloves were for. They looked like food handling gloves to me.
Nevertheless, It rained a couple days earlier so I expected the ground to be a little soft and wet. Tee boxes ok. some fairways had standing water so I took some casual water drops so as to not be standing in water during my swing.. I wondered if it was a draining issue. I did wonder if they had staff to “squeegee” it off the fairways or something.
Traps were raked nicely and evidence of people skipping that shot and probably lifting, cleaning and placing. I found one bunker on an approach shot and tried it out. I found the sand a little heavy, but managed to get it out without any surprise. I wondered how light the sand would have been without the moisture..
Greens seem to hold on approach shots and weren’t as soft as I thought they’d be with the previous rain. I thought they must have done a good job with the drainage in the greens. My putts seemed to roll true and I was impressed that they were rolling close to what I would guess to be about a 9-10..
I noticed the opportunity to increase the challenge of the course by just strategic pin placing. Greens were large enough to not worry about hitting in regulation, but that could also mean long putts if the pin was tucked.
Trek was laid out nicely. I walked and there were a couple holes that had a little distance between green and next tee box and I was able to follow the signs to the next tee easily. It took me 2:09 to play 9..
I was a bit put off at where 18 ends up in relation to the clubhouse. It was a little bit of a walk back. I am kind of partial to the whole 19th hole gallery watching those come up 18 for the finishing hole. Oh well, I’ll wait to tip my hat another time.
When I play in these kinds of conditions, I look for the course to do a couple things. The first, of course, is to let the players know the local rules in place and where there is standing water and drop zones are, That way those areas can be avoided and not stumbled upon. Then another nice touch would be to have available golf shoe scrapers at the tees or spread out after a few holes. I understand a lot of golfers ride now, but those that walk could find that valuable.
But overall, I give it 4 stars seeing the potential. I will return to play again.
Nice little muni track
Nice little muni track. Nothing fancy. Fast greens. Nice condition.
