Deer Creek Golf Club

we were not told about the league that started 90 minutes after our tee time so ended playing the same front nine holes so we were disappointed we were not informed.

Played on a Thursday. Pace of play was good even after 10:00 price drop. A lot of singles and doubles, unmatched. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Rough is fair, you could find your ball and hit out. Traps were in a strange condition - half sand and half dried mud. Sand was soft but dried mud was like chipped hard pan. Sand traps don’t appear to have been raked. Perfect golf day if you like 75, sunny, and just a hint of breeze.

Course is in excellent condition. Still need sand in the fairway bunkers though.

I enjoy playing this course. You cannot beat the price of $25 to play. The only downside was the pace of play. It was very slow. Having someone on the course to help remind groups to keep pace with the group in front of them, would be helpful.

For over 20 years Deer Creek has served as the testing ground for every swing theory I have devised. It’s not too easy, and not too hard. There’s enough length and risk-reward to test your mettle. Deer Creek represents the best blend of value, accessibility, length, difficulty, and conditioning found in the South suburbs. The green complexes are relatively large and most play slightly uphill. A few of the greens are canted away from the fairway and require accurate pitch shots to hold the green. The green speeds are reasonable-to-slow, but I’ve never had a problem with them. Theyyalso I’m fairly good condition given the amount of play the course receives.

My sense is that the owners have found the sweet spot between quality golf and reasonable pricing. And it’s this delicate yet consumer friendly balance that makes Deer Creek a pleasure to patronize. The value/condition ratio is just right! Perhaps Deer Creek is our version of Thomas Edison’s Menlo Park laboratory. We’ll keep on try until we get it right!

Came out on a Thursday, had a 3hr 30min round. Great course, big greens and lots of opportunities to score. Had two blowup holes and still shot a 94. Will be back for more.

Course in great condition - challenging from the back tees. Nice layout, great time.

Perfect weather, great price, fantastic fairways and greens. Traps were like concrete. Why? Please fix them so that I can rate this 5 stars.

Course is fine. Greens great. Called the day before to see if they allowed fivesome. They said no. So we played 4. We waited on every tee. Had 4 groups on 4 waiting to tee off. We were followed by a group of six that actually kept up. Too slow…
