Golfers need to fix thier divots
The only big complaint that I have about this facility is the greens were full of divots. My playing partner and I fixed at least 5 divots on every green. The course is a fun layout with many doglegs. The par 3's are all challenging.
Good Value for the Money
A nice value in price, location and quality. Well maintained. Friendly staff. Nice mix of holes in difficulty, length and layout.
Bit humid but for $10 for a course in nice condition can't complain
Started off playing bogey or better golf finished around 100 but not because of the course. Humidity was on the rise for the back nine but for the price it was great to be out there. We set our own pace and while it was a bit slower than we could have played we were paired up with another couple of golfers so we were 4 and let a single go through which put us back a bit but we didn't really care too much. Course could add a beverage person a bit earlier in the day but the one we got was great to look at and nice as well. Course is showing some signs of use and abuse this time of year and those playing could be nicer to the greens but the fairways and most of the greens were in very good shape and the tee boxes pristine for a public course with such low prices. Will be back again as long as they keep up the job they are doing.
Challenging course that's a value.
Played course in the 70s so it has many memories, but the course is still challengin, more wooded, and in very good condition.
poor sandtraps
This course has to improve the condition of the sandtraps. the weather took a toll on them.
Deer Creek
Great course at a great price! Most local courses had a much higher price for July 4, 2014.
For a hacker for me this was an enjoyable course to play.
This course is a great bargain
Course is in great shape. Great Price. Challenging, but not too difficult.
Wet but playable
Due to a recent storm, it was cart path only. People were friendly and all things considered, course was not too bad. Deer Creek is a course I try to play every year.
Nice enough course
The course was nice, don't think they like golf now players. Told us when we got to course at 1:50 for a 2:07 tee off time that we can't get our cart keys until 2oclock because they didn't want us to run out and start golfing to early. Then we were told the twosome we were playing with(we didn't know ) had not checked in yet that we would have to wait for them ?They were late we did not wait course was getting crowded very disorganized , tho the price was right
Sunday Golf
Great price..Weather was warm and humid. Course was very wet. Carts on paths only. Made it difficult when crossing the fairway. Usually carried 4 clubs.
Nice Course
Visiting from out of town. Played on Father's Day Sunday. Was a bit slow to get started and had to wait quite a bit, but still had a good time. Course was in great shape from fairways to greens. Would definitely play there again.
great course for the money
fairway in greens in excellent shape. the rough was cut a little too high we spent a lot of time looking for our balls.
Best course conditions all year slow play continues
This was the best maintained course (tees, greens and fairways) that I've played so far this year. Tees and greens were soft full and sponge like. Greens didn't roll true at all some looked like they would run 6 feet and the ball barely rolled three. Too soft maybe but they looked pretty and didn't have much effect on play. Layout wasn't too difficult other than the reads on the greens and the interesting lies in the rough. Some rough was lush and thick as thieves and others were bare with tree roots. Guess it depended on the hole and how close to a sprinkler the grass got. Pace of play needs to be picked up a bit as hit and then wait for three minutes with a group right behind you also waiting needs to stop. Let's bring the tradition of the Old course over the pond. Handicap cards anyone?
Course has many different challenging holes
I've probably played this course 15 times, and this is probably the 5th time it has taken over 5 hours to play 18 holes. There was a 20 person outing scheduled to tee off right before our tee time. It would have been nice if we had been told this prior to scheduling our tee time. I probably won't return in the near future for another 5-6 hour round. A nice course, but not worth the effort.
Great Course
If you're an avid golfer and you want a good golf experience, not a hang out spot, but a good golf experience for the price, this is the place for you. The course is in great condition, challenging but fair, and the staff is respectful to everyone.
GREAT COURSE GREAT PRICE
this is great place to play and the price for weekend rates are on the best one you can find. The course is in real good shape
Hidden gem with value and challenge
I've played this course many times over the last 20 years, but took a 10 year hiatus due to poor course conditions. On this visit, you could visably see the effort the greenskeeper has made to turn this course around. For a high volume public course, the greens rolled true, the bunkers decently manicured, and a challenge to play. As a 8 hdcp, I look for a fair challenge and this course provides it especially from the tips. The final 4 holes force you to hit golf shots if you want to post a great score. Deer Creek is a hidden gem at a fair price in the south suburbs.
The only downfall is the pro shop and clubhouse. Not enough options and the bar is not inviting to keep you around after the round.
challenging greens
The greens are very fast and challenging. For the cost, you can't beat it..
Terrible Customer Service
Made a tee time, could not make tee time due to car troubles. GolfNow charged me $120 even though it specficially said pay when I show up. I never golfed and manager refused to refund the round.
Only One Thing Wrong
It was a bit muddy, so our balls & clubs got dirty fast, but when I went to wash them there was no water in the washers. (most of them anyway). I think out of probably 5, we actually stopped long enuf to do so, only 1 had water in it.
I did like the course a lot tho; I think that was at least our 3Rd time playing there?
Thanx for asking,
Kathy
