Midlane: Best Value for the Golfing Dollar
I recently teed off at Midlane for the first time this season. This could be a great year, course-wise.
They've cut back a significant amount of underbrush which makes the course look different and almost new. If you like playing from the Gold tees, you can actually see at 18 tee!
They've got a new dedicated pro shop, and the bar/grill has been redesigned. It looks much, much better.
The greens, though early, were nice and firm.
Happy to see the owners investing in the property. Now if they could just find a way to turn number 6 into a par five and pickup that Par 72!
Pretty good for March in IL
All in all the course was in ok shape for it being the middle of March in northern Illinois. Pace of play was good for the course being pretty full. We finished in a hair under 4 hours.
beautifull day for golf
nice course but alot of WATER tough on short hitter
Not in great shape. Bunkers are in very poor condition.
The bunkers are terrible - most of them don't have any sand and are extremely firm. There is a lot of water on the front 9. Fairways are in fairly good condition, but the greens are not well maintained. I would describe the course as too difficult for what it is. Don't think I will be coming back.
Very good, a few rough patches
Generally a nice round on a beautiful beginning of Fall day. It was windy but warm. Nice to get a round in before the leaves cover my ball in the fairway.
Yes, there were some bare spots on the tee boxes, fairways, and greens. But nothing horrible considering the environment.
Happily will be back again.
