Too slow pace
It took more than 5hrs on Saturday afternoon and I saw the ranger just once, not enough attention.
Congeniality with an Attitude
At the clubhouse, Pro/Manager Bill Aldridge does it all. The range is adequate for practice or warm-ups. Onceout to the course, be prepared for some challenging golf with forced carries and plenty of hidden water in landing areas. Take along a copy of the course layout specially if you haven't been to Midlane in a few years. Soem beautiful old oaks line the fairways with cathedral like views on some of the newer holes on the back nine. First nine now has many homes lining the fairways.
Great course
Too bad it's so far from Chicago, I'd go more often if it was closer. I used to go here when they had 36 holes. While they got rid of a few good ones (when they chopped it to 18), there is still a lot of good left. What is now the back 9 still hosts some of my favorite holes. There is a challenging group of picturesque holes that look amazing before sunset.
I was however, harshly reminded that there is an aggressive gnat population that can be really distracting. While you soak in the beauty of the last four holes you must guard your face, ears, mouth against these guys. I've never figured out if related to the last holes, or hot sweaty days, or if they just come out for dark, but the gnats are the only downside to what can be a beautiful round of golf.
Great layout, nice large greens, traps had no grass.
Good value for the money. Only improvement I would suggest is to put GPS on the carts. Also add turf repair containers to carts, not a great expense.
Wide variety of holes. Nice layout, lots of water and houses.
The day we played, the course received quite a bit of rain and was saturated. Despite the wetness, the course was in very good shape, the greens were also in very good shape but rolled a little slow. Nice variety of holes, a couple narrow landing areas but overall very enjoyable.
Nice day for golfing.
This course is very well maintained and play time was very good. I've played here a couple of times and I would recommend this course to anyone.
Nice course with many interesting holes
It's a nicely maintained course that has a little bit of everything - and lots of water.
Great price for an excellent course!!!!
The course is 6,800 yards from the tips and it is a challenge. It was well maintained and the pace of play was excellent.
Very nice course, excellent value and outstanding pace of play
Very nice course, great value and outstanding pace of play - appears to play like a private course.
Female foursome travelers.
Love playing this course! It was in great condition for this early season. It is female friendly---enough challenge without causing undue frustration.
Great Course, enough trees to be challenging and perfect condition
Was pleasantly surprised when I tied off for the first time at Midlane Resort. Fairways and greens were in excellent condtion, very good layout with variety of trees, water, and dog legs. Price is low and cant be beat here, was able to start early and play quickly.
Midlane CC
The fairways and greens were perfect for the weather conditions in northern il. Staff had all the prepaid info and we headed to our carts and directly to the course. Pace of play was excellent and we finally caught the group in front of us on the 18 hole. Great time.
Good stuff
Some challenging holes but a good time. Nice course, and played faster than the course normally allows.
good to play here on the weekday
play from gold tee is chaallenging but play on blue tee is just a ok
The course is very well maintained.
The course is great evenfor jusr a few days it has been opened. Some soft spots and watery parts of the fairway which is common during this early part of spring but the fairways are generally good. Greens are very good. Overall, the course has been maintained very well. Have already recommended this place to some golfing friends.
Nice course, challenging, a lot of water.
Midlane golf course is in nice shape. It has recovered from last years drought. Greens are pretty fast, grass has filled in nicely in the fairways and the rough is mowed to a good height.
Consider riding - distance from green to tee is significant on the back nine.
If you are an average player like me bring a few extra water balls.
I will definitely play it again.
This is a fun course
There are a nice diversity of holes. Where it lacks in lenght it makes up for in tightness. Has holes to score on, and holes where par is a great score.
Mediocre track on the northside
Despite reading prior reviews about great greens and a challenging track, I was disappointed when I got here. It definitely feels like this was a resort that was created in the 50s and homes were stuffed around the course in the 80s. Greens were true but not very challenging (flat and medium sized). The back nine was far more interesting than the front. I'd recommend playing the back twice than wasting your time on the front.
Course has great features
Gameplay took forever bc of 8 4somes in front. fun.
course is in excellent shape.
course is in excellent shape. greens run fast and hold. pin placement s are fair and test your putting skills. fairways are in excellent shape. course is a great value. winds make the course very challenging at times. personnel are friendly and are helpful. played yesterday in 3 hours and fifty minutes.
