About
Mystic Oak Golf Course in Waterloo has a diverse layout that seems to play a little differently each time you're on it. The layout features long, winding fairways and gently sloping greens, which are framed by a slew of strategically placed bunkers. There are also many water hazards that come into play throughout the golf course. The gently rolling terrain has subtle ups and downs that provide tricky uneven lies. The back nine is uniquely divided into three par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s each. The golf course will test your short-game skills but the lengthy par 5s offer driving opportunities for long hitters as well. Mystic Oak Golf Course is player friendly enough for a wide range of skill levels but you may be surprised to find yourself using all the clubs in your bag.

Great value.
I’m a 15+ handicap.
Fun, and challenging layout. Great bang for your buck, well maintained. Played my first round here on 8/10/26. Dan, at the pro shop, received me @check in with a smile and was happy to help. Thank y’all! We will definitely be back!
More for your buck
This course is a great course and for the price, even better. No complaints, and the food in bar is tasty.
Mystic Review
A challenging course with course in great shape! Greens in very good condition and very little divot damage. Only disadvantage on course is lack of visible yardage marking to more accurately make shots! If you hit errant shots, you best bring an extra bag of balls. You will not venture into the timber rough! Most fairways have zoysia turf and all tee boxes are zoysia.
Loaded course in terrible shape
The greens are the only good spot on the course right now and even those aren’t in good shape. The tee boxes are miserable. Grass is dead everywhere and you’re standing in dirt on most of the tee boxes. There is basically no rough. It wouldn’t that big of an issue, but most of the rough is just dirt. Your hitting on rock hard lies basically everywhere your ball is. Regardless of the conditions, they continue to try and load as many golfers on their course as possible. They put tee times every 7 minutes so be ready for an extremely slow round every time you play here. There’s a Marshall, but I think his only job is to clean the carts. It took nearly 3 hours to play 10 holes. It got so bad, me and my buddy just left.
Pace of play
Group in front of us were very loud and very very slow, no marshal.
Slow play today
Cart path golf sucks!!!!! We could not find water or wet spots on the course and played 6 holes of cart path golf. Finally as we were walking off the green at 6, a guy came out and said 90 degree. Great! We hoped that would speed pay up…..not so much. Not much can be done about people just starting to learn because they are horrible but I’m patient to a point but you can’t take 11 practice swings or stand over a putt for 35-40 seconds, miss and do it 2 or 3 more times. I’m done bitchin’ for now! Hopefully next time will be better.
Great Track
Everything was plush. Greens were in amazing shape. Highly recommend.
Great course!
Fun layout. And o e of the hardest par 5 holes around. Only complaint is the wait on a drink and hotdogs at the turn. Bartender was unenthusiastic.
Fun course
Course is nice. Good layout. Fairway grass was a little long, but not terrible
Aerated greens, cart path only
Had a bit of rain the night before, so cart path only REALLY slowed down play, unfortunately. Plus the greens had been recently aerated, so putting was terrible. I have played this course several times, so will be back once it shapes up, but never again the day after a rainstorm.
