About
Mystic Oak Golf Course in Waterloo has a diverse layout that seems to play a little differently each time you're on it. The layout features long, winding fairways and gently sloping greens, which are framed by a slew of strategically placed bunkers. There are also many water hazards that come into play throughout the golf course. The gently rolling terrain has subtle ups and downs that provide tricky uneven lies. The back nine is uniquely divided into three par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s each. The golf course will test your short-game skills but the lengthy par 5s offer driving opportunities for long hitters as well. Mystic Oak Golf Course is player friendly enough for a wide range of skill levels but you may be surprised to find yourself using all the clubs in your bag.

Bad shape
Course conditions were not great. Also shotgunned us to get the round in under 4 hrs due to a tournament. Staff was a bit much about the situation cause they needed our carts by 12. Not the best experience there.
I would not play here again.
Honestly, horrible value for money. I had what I thought was the first tee time, but they sent a group of four out before me who had a later tee time. They luckily let me play through when I caught up to them quickly.
The fairways were horrible. Lots of mud and not a lot of grass. The greens were great though. The tee boxes were rock hard even in the morning. The rough was crazy on some holes, almost ankle length.
Just go play acorns. Similar price, similar location, a whole lot better.
Fairways are rough
Lots of bald spots, crab grass and weeds on fairways. Greens are OK but lots of ball marks. Lots of fun holes but general conditions make this hard to recommend. Can't argue with the price though.
This course offers a challenge to all golfers
The course was in great condition! Staff is friendly and the pace of play was excellent. Will definitely be back!
The course is in better shape than I have ever seen it. It looks like the new owners have spend time and money into trying to make it into a very nice golf course.
Don't Waste Your Time
What a terrible golf experience. 5+ hr round. 5-somes on the course. No Marahall entire round, found him eating a sandwich at the clubhouse. Fairways in terrible conditions; can't tell the difference between rough/fairway. Previous rain made it a sloppy/muddy mess. With so many options in the area, DO NOT waste your time and money here.

Always love playing Mystic Oak. Course was in great shape and pace of play was fantastic.
HOT but beautiful
We had a great time today. The greens were in very good condition in fact better than Ive ever seen them .

Rough shape
This will be the last time I play Mystic Oak. Have played there in the past and the conditions were good. Today was the worst I’ve seen it. Fairways have dirt/mud patches all over the place, standing water and puddles in the fairways from the sprinklers, greens were exceptionably slow and had not been mowed, weeds everywhere. Pretty disappointed to say the least.
What?
Don’t know what the STL bumpkin was whining about, stay on your side of the river I guess! Course is in great shape, although time to get done water on the tee boxes and move the markers, getting a little chewed up. Greens in marvelous shape. Waterloo is a hidden gem with so many good to great courses. Great job Mystic staff with keeping up with our tyrannical governors COVID edicts!
