Mystic Oak Golf Course in Waterloo has a diverse layout that seems to play a little differently each time you're on it. The layout features long, winding fairways and gently sloping greens, which are framed by a slew of strategically placed bunkers. There are also many water hazards that come into play throughout the golf course. The gently rolling terrain has subtle ups and downs that provide tricky uneven lies. The back nine is uniquely divided into three par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s each. The golf course will test your short-game skills but the lengthy par 5s offer driving opportunities for long hitters as well. Mystic Oak Golf Course is player friendly enough for a wide range of skill levels but you may be surprised to find yourself using all the clubs in your bag.

Not Worth The Drive
Waterloo isn't exactly down the road from downtown St. Louis so to make the trip for what turned out to be not even an average course was disappointing. Granted it was the day after lots of rain and the course was pretty water logged. Golfers living in the area were friendly enough to give me directions to the next holes, especially to third and fourth holes. There was nothing exciting about the course other than seeing a black swan in one of the lakes between holes 6 and 7. There are also couple of blind tee boxes in the back 9. Mystic is probably the bottom of the list of available courses in Waterloo..

SOME OF THE FAIRWAYS AND TEE BOXES A LITTLE SPARSE OF GRASS.
WILL PLAY AGAIN.
Great value...not for from St.louis area
The course has undergone improvements...Waterloo il. Now has three above average golf courses...
Great Course and Good Value for your dollar
Love everything about this course. Greens in great shape and the fairways are all good. The 19th hole is by far the best!
Great Course
The course is in very good condition. Really like the area the course is on.
I will be back
For those of you thinking of going back to this course, You should make that effort. This is complete turnaround. I played this course many times in the past on a regular bases but stopped a few years back because of the condition it became. This is the best I have seen it . The greens are on the slower side but wow what a difference. The fairways have some bad areas but overall are really nice. The rough is playable and the tee boxes are much improved. We will be back
Great course
Course was in good shape. Nice greens. The course layout is perfect, challenging but not overly difficult. I play to a 9 handicap and use the white tees (about 6,000 yards here). Love the course and will be back.
Retry darn good
Not sure what that other review was all about, this course is not that bad! Fairways are in decent shape greens very soft and holding just a little bit fuzzy. I just wish that golf now when describing the course would also list the days of league play, but I guess if you do your homework and look on the Internet at the courses website, you can find that out and not show up in the middle of a two-man scramble! We will be back, this course is in really good shape.
Bad
Fairways were half dead and every other green was in decent shape. Not worth the money for 18 in my opinion. I would rather pay a little more and play at a better course.
