About
Mystic Oak Golf Course in Waterloo has a diverse layout that seems to play a little differently each time you're on it. The layout features long, winding fairways and gently sloping greens, which are framed by a slew of strategically placed bunkers. There are also many water hazards that come into play throughout the golf course. The gently rolling terrain has subtle ups and downs that provide tricky uneven lies. The back nine is uniquely divided into three par 3s, par 4s, and par 5s each. The golf course will test your short-game skills but the lengthy par 5s offer driving opportunities for long hitters as well. Mystic Oak Golf Course is player friendly enough for a wide range of skill levels but you may be surprised to find yourself using all the clubs in your bag.

A Good Time
My husband and I played this course several years ago and we were not impressed. Decided to play here again and what a pleasant surprise! The course was well kept. Fairways were great as well as the greens. Don’t know if it is under new management or what happened but we were impressed. We would definitely recommend Mystic Oak and we will definitely play here again.
First time playing there.
Enjoyed the round. All in all course in good shape. Fairways coming in nicely. Greens in good shape, but slow and fluffy.
No Driving range and the putting green had no holes to practice on before the round.
Highly recommend
This course is great. I never played it when it was in the bad shape that I’ve read about, but I’ve enjoyed playing it a few times this year. The value can’t really be beat. I’ll continue to look for opportunities to play here.
Also, the bbq is amazing.
Some fair ways have some bad spots but for the most part in excellent shape. Definitely the best condition I’ve seen in the past couple years.
Not bad
Read some of the older reviews talking about the terrible shape the course was in and even heard the same from a couple of my local golfing buddies. With the $17 hot deal it was worth trying it out. I was happy to see that the course was in excellent shape. Fairways were green with a few rough spots but every course has some. Greens were really soft and needed a cut but they rolled true and it didn't hurt the round at all. There seems to be more than your average amount of local duffers at this course and the pace of play suffered a lot from it. A few of them were in sleeveless t shirts and there were even 2 groups of 5 that made it out in front of us. All of that aside I will absolutely be going back to play this course on a less busy weekday so I can properly enjoy the round.
Great Shape
The difference between 2 years ago and now is amazing. The greens are in incredible shape and the fairways are filling in nicely.
Course is in solid shape. The fairways are growing in nicely and the greens roll true.
Course in Great Shape !
Mystic Oaks is back ! Course has done a 180 degree turn around from 2017 ! The greens are in great shape, & the fairways are starting to fill in with zoysia grass., the staff is friendly, and the food is very good.
If you haven't played Mystic Oak GC in Waterloo. you should !
Course has made an awesome comeback
In past years Mystic Oak was hot or miss in all categories. This place has gone above and beyond and has done a complete 180 from the food to the course conditions, especially the greens. Would highly recommend playing here.
January Golf in STL
Mystic Oak is a good alternative if you just need to get out and hit the sticks. Course is short, and the current fairways are rough. Greens were furry, but rolled true. But, it is January in St. Louis, so I will forgive these for now. If I get a chance to replay, I will also re-rate.
Have you come back since January ? Course is in excellent shape.(6-15-19)
