About

Bonnie Brook Golf Course, known amongst locals as simply "The Brook," is one of the most popular public courses on the North Shore. It has even been ranked as one of the top 50 public golf courses in the Chicagoland area. Designed in 1926 by James Foulis, the course has a classic feel to it with challenges that have withstood the test of time. The layout sprawls across a scenic natural landscape accented with gently rolling hills, tall native grasses, and sparkling lakes. The north branch of the Waukegan River also meanders through part of the golf course. The Bonnie Brook layout offers enough of a challenge for advanced players with narrow, tree-lined fairways and subtly tricky undulations throughout the spacious greens, but it is a round that is player friendly enough for any skill level to enjoy.

Needs Attention

Bonnie Brook is a cute course that is in need of a hard look at itself. The layout is nice and could develop into a challenging track, but disrepair and a lack of care has made it nearly unplayable at this time. I hope that changes. The staff is apologetic and friendly, making clear they know the greens are in bad shape, the cart paths under construction, the pace of play completely unregulated (we followed a foursome who took 5 hours plus with never as much as a look back at our twosome, who could’ve played through them and been out of their site in 5 minutes if they (or the course ranger (non-existent) had cared

Nice Course

The course was very good. Had a few glitches with the new GPS due to putting in new cart paths. Other than that next year when the cart paths get put in it should be fixed. We had a great time even tho our scores could have been better.

Great golf course 👍

Had a great time playing at this golf course. After playing 18 holes went to washroom and during washing my hands and face accidentally I dropped my necklace which I realized after reaching home. I called next day and golf shop person went to washroom and found it. He kept it in the envelope with my name. I went there and got it back my precious necklace which my mother had given me before she passed away while back. I really appreciate and thank you the staff. Rohit Parekh 🙏
