Very fun course
I try to play Shepherd's Crook at least once per week from April - Oct. Course is always very enjoyable (except when it's extremely windy) and tbe pace of play is usually pretty quick.

Spring Golf
It’s too bad we have had so much rain this spring but the greens they were outstanding as they are always outstanding at shepherds crook golf course that’s the reason we always come back no matter what time of the year it is. Can’t wait till the golf course dries out that way the whole golf course will be outstanding.

Great track
This course is always in great shape even in spring. I am a 11.3 handicapper and pretty much play everywhere and always enjoy a round here. It's a links course so if the winds are blowing just add a few strokes to your round and enjoy. Greens are always challenging so like most courses, stay below the pins or it's going to be a long day. New patio deck is great to relax with a cold one afterwards. Oh and if you like a Brat, must try one here.

This course is always in great shape, firm and fast!
Very friendly staff, a great value and excellent course conditions. The second time we've played there, was as good as the first time. A fun course with multiple tee layouts for any challenge.
A hidden park district Gems
The folks who checked you in and get you started or super friendly. The course is an excellent condition, the greens are super fast, with lots of undulation, and breaks. The sand traps are in good shape and make it difficult to get up and down. The layout is spectacular with lots of challenging holes. The new deck area that overlooks the 18th green and 18th fairway is really a nice place to stop and have a sandwich and a an adult beverage after the round.
Great challenge for seniors
This course is absolutely a great test for me and my brothers who are all over 70 years old. We played there many times in 2021 and had a great experience every round. Weekly rates, play pace for us were great and food and drink was excellent. Looking forward to many more rounds in 2022.

I,, we, love your course. You keep the course in very good condition and the pace of play is good.
Unfortunately, my playing partner is very cheap and will only play your course when we have GroupGolfer or Golf Moose certificates.
General Review Of Course And Facilities
We refer to Shepherd's Crook as the hidden gem of the Northshore. We love the course, really love the new deck area that was added this past year. Our only wish is that the course had some type of practice range other than the putting green. Purchase the apple orchard next door and put in a driving range and we would play the course more often than we currently do. I reside in Vernon Hills and live on the White Deer Run golf course, whereas, it takes about 30 minutes of drive time to get to Shepherd's Crook.
Again, we love the course, it just needs a practice facility. Last, the food is excellent!

We play every Wednesday morning so know the course well. It's in excellent condition and is marshaled regularly in case there are any slower players that interrupt pace of play. Highly recommend the course.

Great course
The course was in great November condition. The greens were quick with lots of undulations. Some of the pins were in very challenging placements, but I enjoyed the challenge. Shepherds Crook is one of my favorite courses to play. It’s worth traveling 40 miles to play. I’ll be back often.
