Plum Creek Golf Club
About
Opened in 1998, this Pete Dye design has hosted several high-level college and professional golf tournaments while simultaneously serving thousands of enthusiastic amateur golfers throughout greater Indianapolis and beyond. With five sets of tees ranging from just under 7,000 yards to just over 5,000, Plum Creek is playable by all golfers. Several ponds and a winding stream come into play throughout the course, placing a premium on smart play, all while minimizing the need for forced carries for higher-handicap players.

Pete Dye on a budget
Great course for the money. Fairly challenging; lots of tall grass, typical of a Pete Dye course. Elevated greens, long carries over water, gotta be precise off tee to score. Late in the season, so the greens were a bit chewed up, but still very playable. . I'll look forward to getting back again in the spring.
Great greens and bunkers.
Best maintained course I've played this year. Greens near perfect and bunkers very well kept. Bunkers on other courses this time of year are not playable. Paid a fantastic rate with a hot deal rate so it made this a great day of golf for not a lot of money. Great.
Good Experience
Staff is very friendly. Course is in great condition. Practice facilities are also wonderful. Good value for the money especially with golf now pricing.
Course is over watered and there is little roll on the fairwawys. Greens in top shape, pin placement was difficult the day i played.
While the fairway grass looks great for a drought stricken Hamilton County course, the draw back from over watering is there is essentially no roll on the fairways.
Greens were in good shape and were holding well.
First time, not the last!
I used a previous Hot Deal credit to snag a 2 pm tee time at Plum Creek. To my knowledge this is the first Pete Dye course I've played. To my enjoyment, our 2-some rounded out to a 4-some of evenly matched skills for a competitive round and lots of fun. The front 9 had just been aerated and we started on 10 thinking we'd have to play back 9 twice. Not so, by the time we got around 18, the front 9 were opened up. Free driving range, great condition of equipment, facilities and course. I'll be back!
Great course!
Played this course two days in a row! Loved it and keeping it in my database to play it again one day!
Plum Creek August 17 2013
Plum Creek was in great shape. This is a really fun course to play.
I love this course. Its tough enough to make it challenging, but not too difficult to where its no fun. Overall I LOVE THIS COURSE!
aweomse, well kept course! would go play it again!
Loved playing this course
I hasd not played this course in over 10 years, but it was as good as I remembered. The course was well maintained even as they were doing some upgrades on some of the holes. The counter staff was very friendly and explained the policy if course was closed due to inclement weather. I would recommend this course to others especially with the rate on Golfnow I got. Hopefully I will playing again soon.
great condition and experience
everythings was great except greens need a little more pace.
2nd Class Citizen
Did not feel welcome and believe it was in part because of booking tee time at a discounted rate from Golf Now. If you are going to be a "semi-private" club, then do not treat your public guests, paying patrons mind you, as 2nd class citizens. This ranged from the pro shop staff to the very unfriendly bartender. The actual course was in great shape and played more difficult than years past but my money will be spent elsewhere for the remainder of the summer.
Course in great shape
Course has several risk/reward holes.
Knowing where to miss greens is important, you miss on the
wrong side it will be a tough up n down.Ball rolls true on greens.
Fairways are in great shape. Multiple tees make it very playable for
every level player.Really the only thing they need is gps. There are yardage markers but not as many as you need when no gps available. Overall i would recommend this course.
Thanks golf now for a great price!!!!!
GPS needed
Would have liked a GPS system on board the carts. Diagram of the greens and fairways need more descriptive visuals.
Decent for the price
This place is "semi-private", which means the members think they deserve special treatment. They think they can jump in front of you in line for food/beverage and hop on the tee in front of you, even if you have a tee time and they don't. The first hole is a driveable par 4, which makes sure no one goes off by their tee time. Pace of play was slow. The front 9 is bland. Not exactly Pete Dye's "A" material. The back 9 is more interesting. Greens were decent, but did have a bunch of ball marks. If you've got all day, don't mind being treated second class, and can get a good price, it's okay. I will play one of the other many nearby courses next time, though.
Fun to play, relatively short course
Plum Creek is alot of fun to play. It has some unique layouts and overall is very well maintained. The rough can be somewhat punishing but most holes are easy driving holes with iron of the tee often an option.
Awesome Course in Fantastic Conditions
This is probably as close to a PGA quality course that is accessible to the public in Indianapolis. The fairways and greens were in top notch shape. Just feels good to play at courses like this every once in a while at a fair price. I found the sand once and I wish all courses had sand like this.
Rain soaked day
Pros:
course in good shape overall for amount of rain, free range balls
Cons:
needs GPS, bunkers have no drainage most full of water , rough very high
Excellent course- multiple tees tees
Course was in excellent condition after all the rain we have had. Greens were not super fast but could be. Greens large with multiple contours.
Really nice course. Very well maintained and staffed!
Probably my favorite course in the area. I hope to play it several times this year.
I would not recommend paying regular price for this course but with the golfnow discount it is reasonable
The golf course was in decent shape considering it is the middle of November. The greens were rough and obviously had not been mowed or rolled for awhile. The sand traps had not been raked for several days. It looks like most of the greenskeepers crew has been layed off for the season so the upkeep is poor at this time.
