Golfer Reviews
Good shape, old but functional carts
I’ve played Bear Slide a fair amount and this round just happened to be a hot deal so it was super cheap and well worth it. The course is always in pretty good shape. But the normal prime time price of $107 is pretty ridiculous. Unfortunately most public courses in the Indianapolis region have become ridiculously overpriced. You can play most private courses in the area for less if you know a member.
Bear Slide, No Grizzly
Played 18 with my father and we both had a wonderful time. The links style course is challenging but approachable for a higher handicap.
Even though we caught some rain on the front 9, the back 9 was clear and the course showed its true colors. Beautiful fairways, neat bunkers, and greens that rolled true.
I would definitely recommend Bear Slide to anyone looking for great public courses in the Indianapolis area.
Mixed bag
The course, as always, was hard but fair. Greens (FAST!), bunkers, fairways, tee boxes, all in great shape.
The disappointment was that the course had no on course water, no beverage cart & on course port-o-let was out of order. The water jugs in the clubhouse were empty. Little things, I know, but for $95 you expect more. Will I be back? Oh yeah.
Had to play through sprinklers the entire round! Kinda sucked
Lighting fast greens
Greens are in great shape and are very fast. Fairways are very well maintained with only a few wet spots. Clubhouse is aged but has mostly what is needed. Some updated signage for 1st time guests to get a better layout of the course would be beneficial as there are several blind shots and fairway direction can be deceiving.
Would definitely play again
Two courses in one
I loved the course as it is like playing two different courses between the front 9 links and back 9 mature trees and challenging holes. Best course I played in Indiana.
My favorite Course!
I always like to play there, link and traditional setup all in one!
Perfect Fall day of golf
I've played Bearslide ever since it opened and I've never seen the golf course in better shape. Tees, fairways, and greens were pristine. The 1st cut rough was challenging but, playable. Hats off to the the GC Superintendent and grounds crew for excellent quality of workmanship!
