Front 9 was pretty open, and as it turned out, a good warmup for a challenging back 9. Course was in good shape, especially the greens. Back 9 is tight and challenging but very fun. Only issue I had (first time on course), landing areas on back 9 weren't marked on scorecard or tee boxes as far as yardage from tee to fairway. Lots of dogleg holes and I had no idea yardage to land before dogleg. Overall, good course that is great price to play. Would recommend giving it a shot.
Buffalo Trace revisited
I wrote a review about this course just a couple of weeks ago. The staff is hard at work correcting the issues with the fairways, but I don't that it can be resolved before next year given all the rain and heat.
The rough is punishing. I understand that they can't mow fast enough.
All of that said, I will play here again in a couple of weeks.
The fairways are not in good shape but they are giving it their best effort to change it. The greens are solid along with the tees. It's going to take some time for this course to return to its normal shape.
Nice course. Nice price
I have played Buffalo Trace many times. Great course for beginners and intermediate golfers. Greens are very well kept and not too challenging. Some of the fairways on the back 9 are not as good as they were last time I visited. I did not play the past 3 seasons.
Hot deals make for a great value!
known commodity
I haven't played Buffalo Trace in several months. I have come to expect great conditions. Seeing burned out spots in almost every fairway was shocking, but I did find out that most courses in S IN are experiencing the same issues. The BT staff was out on the course with replacement sod, so I expect it will be in great shape by the fall .
Fun course to play
Have played this course for years. 2 different courses, front 9 is flat, back 9 is literally a course in the woods. Greens generally ok some fairways struggling to get grass.
Great Value
Nice course for a great price. Typically no issues with pace of play and the course is always in pretty decent shape this time of year.
Fun Course & Friendly Staff
It’s a great course to play, especially for the price. The staff is always friendly, and the course has its challenges without being too difficult for everyone to enjoy. The front and back 9’s are very different from each other, which makes playing a full round more enjoyable. We always have a good time here.
