Great!
Upon arriving staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. The course was in great shape. When my friend and I finished the front 9 earlier then expected the staff was very accommodating to us since there was league play beginning to tee off the back 9. Thanks to all!

Beautiful and Pristine grounds
Fairways and greens were wonderful and rewarded you for using them. Rolling hills and full vegetation were a great setting. Will play here again. Worth the 30 min drive from Stevensville MI.

Always enjoy playing this course
I mostly play in LaPorte. We play Elbel once or twice a year and always enjoy it. Course is challenging but not impossible. New carts, great clubhouse, always a great time.

Tough rough
The recent rain made this course even more challenging with deep rough grass. Course was in good shape though considering all the rain in the area.

First time at Elbel
Considering the heavy rains prior to tee date the course was playing smooth. Rough was dangerous but fairways very pristine. Greens are above normal grade for a public course. Total bargain playing here. Groundskeepers know their gig here. Wouldn't ask more with the way it has been raining of late.

Rainy Day
The course handled the excessive rain quite well and allowed it to stay open for play.

Elbel round of golf for 1 hole!
Got 1 hole in before it started to rain hard. I waited for 20-30 minutes for it to stop raining, but it kept coming down. I left the course and headed home. I did golf the day before there, the course was in good shape.

Great course
Although many negative reviews were written about this course I played it anyway. I'm here visiting and believe in supporting the public courses. The course had received a large amount of rain recently but was in excellent condition. Very little standing water and the greens have grown in very nice. It was a little cold and windy but I enjoyed being out playing. I would play the course again and recommend it to anyone looking for a nice round of golf.
The price was right
For the condition of the course the price was right. It needs work around the greens but it was fair.
Nice city course under repair
Have played Elbel many times, course needs a lot of work to get back into good playing condition. Mainly the fairways and the tee boxes are under repair. This is a great course, can't wait to see when healthy again.
Very sad for Elbel golf course
First of all let me state that I've always loved this golf course. That being said there have been rumors that they are wanting to close this course and sell the land. well it appears that they are no longer taking care of this course and it was in horrible shape, unmowed greens and Fairways, and the fairways are dying. I know that we've had a lot of rain this year but other courses have been able to manage and at this point most are still very luscious but elbel is a mess. Plus they had a small outing and let people go off on the back nine in the middle of our round. No-one to Marshall the pace of play which was okay on the front nine but once we made the turn they let so many people start on the back it became ridiculously slow. it just appears to me that no one cares for this course anymore and they're trying to run off patrons so that they can sell the land which makes me very sad cuz this used to be one of the best courses around to play And all this is happened in just a three-year period.
Course needs work
The weather this year really took its toll on this once beautiful course. Maybe it will be better next year.
Disappointed
I have been playing there for 25years + just sad to see what has happen to the course in general
Disappointing
Used to play here a lot. It’s been many years but was looking forward to today’s round due to great memories. This course used to be a very nice and fun course. Greens were in decent shape today although many old hole plugs were round dead and bare.. The rest of the course was deplorable. Very rough fairways with many areas down to dirt. Grass on some tee boxes was more like the rough should be. Couldn’t distinguish some of them from the tall grass in front of tees.
If you are selling the course for condos then just close it and sell it already. It wasn’t even worth the golf now rate. Still a beautiful location and layout but very disappointing conditions.
Great layout
I imagine that when this course is in tip top shape it is a great place to play. It was definitely rough around the edges. Greens were in good shape though, and I am sure that once the leaves start changing colors it will be a sight to see. I will be back either way
