Elbel Park Golf Course

The greens for the most part were okay with slight disease. However the fairways were very diseased. The drainage is bad and course was damaged from people taking carts out where they didn’t belong. The course in its condition is not worth what their asking for 18 holes. Probably wasn’t worth the Golf Now price. Very slow group in front of us that was just goofing off. I got so upset I began yelling at them to speed it up.

Have played Elbel through the years but had not been there for 2-3 years. I agree with several comments that the condition of the course is really a let down. Any review that says it is a 5 star course is a planted report or done by an insider. Greens were decent, though spongy and a bit slow. Tee boxes were pretty bad. Lots of turf damage on pretty much every hole. I have always liked the layout and the potential for closing it for a season and giving it a fresh start. I was a single who booked online ( $25 for 4:40p tee time). Not sure why it allowed me to book a time during league play. Starter suggested I go off 11 so I jumped around a bit. A bunch of singles and twosomes were moving along, though I did notice a few very slow groups and a few yahoos on the course. Will not hurry back, sadly.

The course is only a good value for your money when you book on-line. If not, they are not in line with other local courses.

The course is in bad shape due to the heavy rain and flooding. Greens were ok. Tee boxes were awful. I’ve played this course many times, and this is the worst shape I have ever seen it. Not worth the $42 I paid. In the past it has been great layout, challenging but just in rough shape this year.

I've play this course several times a year. I have never seen a course so screwed up. It took us a 3some almost 2hrs 45mins for 9. A fivesome was behind us, we talk on every hole WAITING!!

I've played this course many times. The staff has always been VERY professional the course is always in good to excellent shape. Golfnow will get u a very good price!!

Golfed a round with my old man and thoroughly enjoyed this course! The conditions were as good as I've seen in years and the course was pretty challenging!

We had a rainy cloudy day and made it through 9 holes when we decided to ask for a rain check. They gave us one no problem and we came back the next day to a beautiful sunny day of golf. We golfed front 9 again and really enjoyed the course. Lots of nature and challenges at every turn. Greens were in great shape. Course a little wet but still very nice. Hidden gem in the area!

The city of South Bend has let this course go to pot!!!!! Wouldn’ t recommend!!!

Always been a favorite of mine. The course is beautiful and such a scenic track for a city course. My only complaint is that they have stopped cutting the rough and it is too penal for the average golfer. I dont know if this is an effort to savemoney, but it hurts the enjoyment of the course dor many people, especially seniors.

The course was in the worst condition I have ever seen. I usually play there several times a year, first time this year, but I won’t play there ever again! Everyone kept looking for their golf ball because the fairways and the rough had been cut in a long time and was in such poor condition which caused it to play slow. We, a 2-some, were behind a 4-some that wouldn’t allow us to play through. Finally we got tired of waiting for them on every hole that we simply picked up our ball and asked to go around them. They gave a thumbs up, but when we got held up later by another 2-some playing slow, the 4-some hit into us intentionally and told us to f*** off. We gave up and left. We don’t need to play on the same course with such idiots! Sorry! What use to be a good course has turned into something not worth the money nor pleasure of playing.

I don't know what's exactly going on at Elbel but whatever it is, it's not good. This used to be and can be a great city course. The layout is great. The greens and teeboxes were like crappy fairways and the fairways were like short rough. The areas around the teeboxes and away from the greens were terrible too. All of it was overgrown and a lot of dandelions. It's a shame that this course has been let go like this.

Considering it rained 3 hours before we played, Course was good. Slow group in front of us, let our twosome play through. Finished in 3 hours. This is a great Hot Deal.

The greens were still being conditioned so we hope they will smooth out soon. The rough was long, but they are fair.

We look forward to returning to see improvements.

The course itself was beautiful and a pleasure to play.
