Review of Tate's creek
Still early in the season so it wasn't groomed the best, very high patchy roughs. Greens were in great shape and fast. Fairways were decent. Overall fun course
Same old Tates Creek
Course is in pretty good shape for late fall. The maintenance staff has done a fair job of leaf control and the course is very playable
Like Tates Creek
It wasn't pristine, but the layout was nice and the greens were pretty good; they held and rolled true. Greens are challenging to hit because they slope off to the sides.
Weekend get-away
Okay, this course was extremely hilly and finding a level lie in the fairway almost impossible...what a test of golf! The greens were in excellent shape and I thought they were quite fast so they would hold you're line. We went due to price on the now but I would play it again at full price.
good day
pace of play was good course conditions good which makes for a good day even if your not playing great. You better hit the fairways here and if your not sure where your going go take a look before hitting
Fun everyday type course...
Tates Creek is one of several city owned courses, with the economical difficulties of governments Lexington has done a pretty good job of still investing in their golf courses. Tates Creek is maintained in pretty good condition, it does have a few blind shots but there is no hidden trouble over the blind view. Tates Creek is a great everyday course to have fun playing with friends and family. I would recommend the course for a fun day!!
Great Value
Good Value for the $s, tight fairways, small greens, lots of blind shots. Only beef was one hole had a large tree right in front of the green, shot down the middle of the fairway was blocked out, Need to cut that tree back greatly!
Wonderful course
This is a course that I had never played and I wasn't disappointed.
Good course
A few holes you can't see the green and have difficulty seeing other golfers from tee box. Great greens. Well maintained. Hazards clearly marked.
Easy to get to. Mature trees. Can recover from bad shot
Fun to play. Easy to get to.
can walk for exercise (I did not).
Can recover fairly easy from a poor shot.
Fun & challenging
Fun course to play just a heads up the greens are slow!
Course is in good shape right now
I typically don't make it over to Tates Creek often because the conditions are usually spotty and there's better closer options to me. But I was pleasantly surprised with the conditions of the course and the rate that I got on Golfnow!
Tight, well maintained city course.
Everything was green and lush. Greens were fast and in great shape. Course played long from the blue tees, and tough from the rough. Overall, course was in great shape for early May.
Great Value
Great place to hone your game. If you play during the week, you can play by yourself with nobody pushing you.
Great value
Course was in good condition fairways and rough were similar lengths though.. Sand was like concrete and cart died after the front nine but course was a lot of fun
Nice city course
Creek is one of my favorite courses. It can be pretty challenging with tons of tree's and OB here and there... but it's also fairly short overall in distance. The Tates Creek Anthem is known as the rattling of the balls in the trees... It is maintained decently, about what you should expect from a city course... but the rates are good and Aaron and the guys that work there are all friendly. Many times I go there by myself and play alongside other local guys... definitely one of the best places to walk-up and find a game on the tee box. Only negative is that it gets some non-golfers at times that do not understand slow play and normal golf rules.
Decent for the money
Greens are hard and small, but putt fairly consistently. Short course but requires accuracy... Fairways and rough around the green could be in better shape.
Nice solid course
Quick Greens. Sloping in many spots. Very tight in places. LOTS of trees!
Nice city course
I think of this as my home course since its about a mile from my house and i play it a couple times a week. Thanks to golfnow sometimes i'm on it for $12 for 18 with a cart. That's ridiculously cheap, how can i not go? The coarse is short but very hilly. With easy back to back par 5's in the first 3 holes and a easy par 3 right after its easy to get a great jump on the coars here. Back 9 seems much more challenging and hosts a pair of par 5's that play longer than listed. I consistently shoot 4 strokes higher on the back. Greens could be better but it gets a lot of hacks that do not know any golf etiquette so in the rare instance they actually create a divot, they don't do it often enough to know they should be fixing it. Nothing worse than a lot of municipal coarses though.
Excellent weekday senior value proposition
Nice bones, could use some TLC. The course is short and having course knowledge is very helpful
