Excellent Staff - RARE Customer Service
Several business colleagues and I were looking for a place to play on Father's Day while traveling out of town. We scheduled a round at the Oxmoor, on Saturday night and called a few hours before our round on Sunday to reserve four sets of rental clubs. We ran into an issue early in the call when we asked for a set of left handed clubs. The Oxmoor didn't have any and said they would work on it before our arrival. I got a little nervous and an hour later I called to cancel... I'm glad I didn't. The pro shop had already sent one of their excellent staff members to a nearby course that was going to let us borrow a set for the day. When we arrived, we were treated by friendly service team members in the grill / bar area and the pro shop doing everything they could to make sure our day away from our families was special. The course could use a few additional yardage markers, so bring your rangefinder if you have one... if not, I bet Mike or Chris would do anything in their power to make sure you were taken care of. Thanks guys.
Overall Pleased
Toured OCC last fall and it was not in very good CO dirio . Saw that there were good reviews so wanted to try playing it. It’s a very nice course and you can see that it’s improving. The first cut off the fairway was still very deep, my friend and I lost a number of balls in this. The pace was slow, on the front we were stuck behind a pair that was a bit slow. On the back, there was a group of 8/9 that was all playing together and wouldn’t let us play through. It would have been nice for a course Marshall to be out and making sure it moved along. The grill was fine and the golf ball prices were reasonable. I’ll definitely play it again, just have to hit fairways or else you’re hunting for your ball all day.
Enjoyed the round
Fairways in great shape. Greens nice, The one bunker I was in had fresh sand. Comments about unfriendly staff was NOT the case today. Very friendly.

Thank you for your review, Fr8slate. We will pass along your positive experience to our team at Oxmoor Country Club. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
Great Option
Always nice to get out to a nice course near home. I've had friends that were members for a long time here and the course is currently in the best condition it's been in many years. Enjoyed my round and would recommend!
Oxmoor C.C.
Oxmoor C.C. has had financial struggles on and off over the past 8 or 9 years.
They are currently making another go at it this season.
My round today was great. Greens were in good shape for this time of year( smooth).
Fairways were in good shape as well as the bunkers.
Things were manicured quite nicely.
I hope the are able to stay in business because the layout of the course is great.
I used to be a member there in 08 when it was thriving.
I think it was a good idea to open up tee times to the public golfer to compensate for the drop in club membership.
Much Better Than Last Time
I played here a few times last year and it was far beneath my expectations. Tee boxes were rough, greens were bumpy, just eh.
This time the greens were running well for April, course was just in overall better shape. Not bad for a hot deal.
A recent review may have poisoned the well for me criticizing the pro shop staffs stuffiness. I walked in and wasn't dismissed but not necessarily welcomed. Whatever. Take that for what it's worth.
I played 18 as a single in 2.5 hours. Course has a fun layout with some tough holes. Worth the play.
Good course but...
I’ve played here before and always the same result. Great course but pro shop staff needs to realize it’s not Pebble Beach. I realize this is a golf club but there’s a reason this “golf club” has been on GolfNow for a year. It’s a shame when you walk in the door on a beautiful morning ready to play golf your greeted by someone that clearly doesn’t want you there. It’s not like we walked in with blue jeans on ether. We regularly play much nicer courses so we know how the “Jones’s” like us to dress. If they want to save this course from going under they may want to start in the pro shop.
Just keep it private then.
May be my own fault but I got put-off the minute I walked in the pro-shop by the attendant. "Whadda ya need?"
"I have a 12:30 tee time and I'd like to hit a few balls first."
"Range is closed." Rings me up and hands me a cart key. "It's cart-path only - don't drive anywhere but on the path."
When I get back from my vehicle to the putting area he tells me I can go out right away with a single. I wanted to putt and loosen up (I got there at 11:30 for that reason) so I politely declined. At 12:15 he comes back out and says, "Now you're gonna be behind this twosome - they're 12:20." They go tee off at 12:15 and then a three-some appears out of nowhere and goes ahead of me. I played behind them for the entire front nine.
Apparently this was a private club, ran into revenue issues and has recently opened up to the "public". I am a "public" and I felt like I was thoroughly unwelcome there.
Too bad - it's a very interesting course and I'd like to play it again - probably won't though.
Nice Layout and still green in November
We played in November and are are not from the area. We picked this course because it has bent grass since all the bermuda courses are brown now. We found it to be a great layout. The grass was a little sparse in some places, but otherwise in good shape for November - and yes it was still green. We were a little sad that it was cart path only - because just a couple holes were damp, but hey, you can’t blame them for wanting to take care of their course. We will be back to play this one again the next time we are in Louisville!
A nice course.
its not what it was when it was private but hey it’s another option to play since they opened it up to the public. The greens were in bad condition but everything else was good. We had a great round and the pace was pretty laid back.
It was fun
Played quick, was supposed to rain, but it didn’t, only a few people playing, greens recently aerated.
One of my favorite courses in the Louiville area.
Great course, great layout. Lots of variations in holes.
The condition of the course was not good. Fairways were sparse and lots of weeds. Greens had been recently plugged. Traps were terrible. These conditions are not normal for this course and will hopefully improve over the Fall and Winter.
The golf course was a little beat up
Several greens were damaged by either a careless lawnmower or a machine that was leaking something. Also several other greens had a blight or fungus.
Round
The course has some bfad spots but all and all it was a good day
The course looks pretty rough but . . .
Compared to what this course looked Loki when it was a private golf club, the course looks rough. Several bare spots on many of the fairways. The roughs have a noticeable amount of wild grasses mixed in. A few bare spots on the greens. That being said, the course played much better than it appeared. The ball ran well in the fairways and the greens ran true and fairly quick. For the the “Hot Deal” price we paid for the round, it was a good deal.
Avoid
Burnt/damaged greens = slow. Too many twosomes sent off. Can someone explain the layout of #8 to me? (Other than necessity of property space) Driving range tee box looks like goat snacks.
