Good course
Played on a Sunday with good weather so the place was very busy. It seemed to take a long time as we waited on most holes, but we finished in 4 hours, so I guess that's not bad. A ranger did come around once and comment that he had talked to one of the groups ahead about pace of play. The sand traps are in rough shape. Might want to just lay out of them. Zoysia fairways can't be beat and the greens were very good, although they did somewhat reflect the amount of play over the weekend. I blame lazy golfers for that, not the course. The layout has some difficulty, so it's never boring.
Fun Course
Course was in great shape except for a few wet places in some of the fairways.
Greens were a little furry but were very puttable. If it is your 1st time play with someone who can advise you as you work your way around the course. It can be a little tricky.
Generally Charming
Got a chance to play here on our way back from Florida and was not disappointed. The fairways, greens and cartpaths were superb and the pass of play was under 4 hours, even through a group of young men jumped ahead of us and the couple ahead of us at the turn.
The only blemish on the day (and the 4 star rating) was the cart . The one we were issued (#44) sounded and felt like something was going to come up through the floor everything we took off. The last time we played here our cart quit after the first hole and we had to wait to get a replacement. The state needs to update them, and soon.
The course is awesome ,with a very efficient layout and fast greens, very well maintained.I would, and do recommend to friends
Nature Lover's Course
The sound of boat motors and campsites are a welcome accompaniment. Very well maintained Kentucky State Park course. Eighteen rolling holes with Bermuda fairways that give you a good opportunity in striking a better shot. The greens are manicured and bunkers are maintained well. A very pleasant experience to be had midst some of the beauty of southeastern Kentucky.
Play the State Park Course
Honestly, if the course hadn't been so wet with all the rain it would have been 5 star all the way. The greens were great and rolled good. The course will challenge you if you haven't played it a few times.
Beautiful
The c ourse was beautiful and the staff are great people.
Course was nicely maintained and very pretty.
General burnside
Great course. Excellent shape. Greens were perfect as well as tee boxes and fairways. Course is always in great shape
Good course
Course is starting to green up this spring. Aeration was a few weeks ago and it has not recovered completely on the greens. Some wet spots in the fairways even though no recent rains. Played in a twosome and finished in about 3:15 on a Monday.
Wet Winter Day
The course was wet which is not the fault of the management as we have had rain for weeks. Greens were in excellent shape and the course layout was unique. Scenery was great and we had Turkeys around us on several holes which was cool.
I can't wait to come back in the summer and play it as the fairways will green up and it will be much more dry and that will make this course play as if we have not played it before. Really was a nice course.
Very nice public course
Fairways and greens are in great condition
Fantastic Experience!!!
Very challenging layout, with several blind shots and immaculate fairways. The greens rolled true and fairly fast. Expect to lose some balls if you are not laser straight. Pace of play was perfect on a Sunday afternoon. This is a scenic and well kept course with a friendly staff. This was a wonderful course to play.
Nice Course
Really enjoy playing here about one a week!
