Needs some care, but a good track!
The course itself it a nice course; I am pretty sure that the only flat spots were in the parking lot and that is a good thing! The greens were fast and the fairways were hard, so getting extra out of clubs was easy. The only drawback here was the cart paths; needs work! Considering some of the courses that I have been to, way off of the beatin path, this course was well worth the trip from the Dayton area; I will be playing this one again!
Thank you for the review and feedback! We are always striving to improve the experience for our guests. It is in our capital improvements to begin working on the cart paths this year! We hope to earn your business again soon and get an opportunity for you to enjoy some of the cart path renovations! -KC Team
Thank you for the great 4 star review! We look forward to earning your business again soon! -Team KC
Willows
Challenging course in decent shape still. Pace of play continues to be slow.
Difficult
If You are a 14 and higher handicap not a course you want to play rough is to high you have to stay in fairway for amateurs very difficult not fun playing for the layout just like I said not fun I am. 7 handicap and I didn't like it at all shot way above my handicap
Nice course and lay out
Enjoyed the course and the staff were very helpful. Challenging from the whites and the blue tees were not available. Pace of play was excellent. Would recommend.
Thank you for the 4 star review! We appreciate the nice compliments and hope to earn your business again!- KC Team
Great rate for a nice layout
Been over 10 years since I played Willows. Some of the best Challenging holes in NKY. Glad to get out during COVID19 Stay at Home orders! Keep it in the short grass and play the correct tees and you will enjoy The Willows.
Thank you for the nice review and compliments on the course. We were glad to see during the COVID19 times. We hope to see you up here again.- KC team
Willows has gone downhill
Willows has been overplayed and is in awful shape. Pay the extra money to play Lassing Pointe.
Good course.
Good time. But staff are sticklers. Booked through golfnow. Played the same course the day before so asked to play a different one of the three available. But wouldn’t allow it. And golfnow doesn’t make it possible to request a course. Just something to be aware of.
Just an OK course...
Nice course for the money but sad to see the cart paths were so badly broken up that it was best to drive next to them. Sand in the traps was non- existent. Some greens were a mess.
Kenton County needs to spend some money on maintaining the course!
over priced
half of the parking lot is closed, the tee box are rough, the bunker are hard as a rock, half of the greens are dying , and the cart stop running.
Much Improved
My grandson had played Willows previously. The conditions of the course were not good, due mostly to winter weather. When we played recently, the improvements are very noticeable. The Willows is our favorite course again.
Rates to high
The couse is under construction around the greens. Not worth the money until completion. $20 max for the condition it's in.
Terrible conditions
This course.....sad to say the least.....every course I’ve been on this year has been gorgeous, except this one....plenty of rain and no heat this year and it’s still burnt up somehow....few fairways were trashed, couple greens destroyed so bad that u had to move your ball to avoid putting through tire tracks....not a single bunker is playable and the rough needs cut down....staff is very friendly as always, but the Willows needs to be forgotten about for the year....I will not be returning
Has Potential, Bunkers Worst Ever Seen
This course has a lot of potential, I played the front 9 of Willows and then the back 9 of Pioneer today for the first time. The staff and starters/ranges were very nice in my interactions with them. The fairways were in pretty good shape and the course layout was both challenging and fun.
I took three stars off because many of the greens on the Willows had bumpy, dead areas. Tee boxes on both the Willows and Pioneer were mediocre at best (some had uneven lies). The major disappointment were the bunkers: the absolute worst I ever saw on any golf course! I attached a picture, which shows the green side bunker on Pioneer #16. Literally every bunker on Willows and Pioneer had grass growing out of them, were hard as clay, and none of them were maintained at all. In addition, none of the bunkers on the Willows front 9 had rakes lying near them? I guess the staff gave up on them and they wanted players to as well...
For the staff who maintain the golf courses at Kenton County: why even have "bunkers" on the course if you do not maintain them? Fill them in and just have grass in their place. It's embarrassing to operate a golf course with EVERY bunker in terrible condition. It speaks to your work ethic and care of the course, quite frankly. No effort was put into any bunker, please see the attached picture.
I really do see potential in this course, though. A little effort in certain areas (the greens and bunkers) can go a long way! I do not know if I would recommend playing here this year, but would like to try it in the future to see if any improvements are made.
Will be back again and again!
Course would get 5 stars if not for bunkers which is understandable given the weather we have experienced the last several weeks. Staff is excellent, facilities are top notch, and course is challenging but fair.
