Course in bad shape
The course was in horrible shape. Every fairway and green had many dead spots. I won’t be going back there
Good time
Played on a Monday morning. Not crowded and peaceful. Great time to work on my game, which needs a lot of work.
Had a great time
This course had a great layout and was a lot of fun.
Yikes!!
I have played every course this year at Kenton County, and the Willows was by far in the worst shape. Greens were hard as a rock and not very receptive. The greens has big holes where turf was missing, especially on the 10th and the 11th holes. The fringe areas had patches of long grass, and it seemed that my ball found the bare patch behind a piece of rough on two or three holes. The staff is friendly inside, but the mowers are going to do their job even if you are ready to tee off. I hit one over a mower because I was tired of waiting, and he stared me down on my next shot, then followed me until I got to the green. It was very frustrating!!!!
Sunday Golf
Some of the greens had big black spots other than that for a Sunday it was a great value and pace of play was 4 hours
Course needs some work
The greens had some patchy bad spots. The weather hasn't been that hot yet and the greens already look shabby. Cart paths are in bad need of repair. The parking lot is fabulous, only wished they would've used monies they wasted beautifying the parking on the golf course itself.
Sloooow
If you like 5 1/2 hour rounds on balky carts then this is the place for you.
Course was in good early spring condition, stsff was very friendly. I would suggest on course player assistants to keep play moving.
Fairway Problems
First time playing here and the course was in great shape. Front 9 significantly easier than the back. My main problem was the fairway layout though. A lot of the fairways stop 80-150 yards before the front of the green. If you don't hit a solid approach shot, you'll be punished for coming up short with a shot out of the rough. I don't quite see the need for that. Other than that the course is fantastic. Highly recommend playing it if you have the chance.
Don’t use Golf Now... Cheaper to Call Coarse
Let’s consider the facts.... We’re golfing in March. Can’t really complain about much. Coarse was in okay condition for March. Biggest complaint. Golf Now was more expensive then Kenton County. It’s 25 dollars to play right now. I should’ve called the coarse but didn’t think too because I use Golf Now all the time. Golf Now was 2.50 dollars higher because of their 5 dollar “convenience” fee lol
Cold January
Course was in good shape for the main fact that it was January and off season. Look forward to playing it again in season. Nice layout and challenging
Nice Course
The Willows is a nicely designed track. The greens were in excellent condition. The fairways were patchy at best. The staff was excellent and friendly. Everything was a positive with the exception of the fairways.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!
This course is absolutely pathetic. I've never played a course in such bad condition. The fairways are composed of nothing but mud and patches of crab grass. Please do yourself a favor and spend your money anywhere else. Also, the $6 cheeseburger made me sick.
WHATS GOING ON AT KENTON COUNTY?????
Have played this coarse many times over the years and have played there 4 or 5 times earlier this year . Played on 9 /3 The fairways are gone crab grass growing in tee boxes and thru the fairways . greens looked beat to death. its pretty obvious the only maintenance going on is cutting greens and the grass . They do not have to cut fairways cause there is no grass to cut. I am shocked how this coarse looked . Kenton County use to take great pride in the condition of this coarse. guess those days are gone . paid 20.00 to play 9 holes. When I called the coarse to check on crowd and condition none advised us of the poor condition of the coarse . Guess it's time to play my golf in Boone co .
This course is in horrible conditions
What a horrible course. The fairways are nothing but mud slides. Patches of bent grass and weeds everywhere. Ball marks all over the greens. Some parts of the of the course are mowed, other parts are not. Just super disappointed. Used to play here a lot
Very Dissappointing
The deal was great, but with a price. I've played this course many times in the past. I brought 2 new people there to play for the first time. By the time we were on hole 3 I was apologizing for how awful the course was. Greens were in okay shape. The fairways were awful. Many times hitting off of mud/dirt in the center of a fairway. Rough was tall and uneven. Overall I was very disappointed. These courses are 5 minutes from my house and I'm pretty sure I'll never go back. Great hot deal price, but I'd rather pay full price at a course in good shape.
have always liked this layout
course maintenance seems to be slipping
Great course in poor condition.
The course overall is a fun and challenging course. The greens are amazing offering quite a bit of challenge with lots of subtle undulations. The course has great elevation changes and wonderful layout challenges on most holes.
The one down side is the overall course condition. Too many fairways were in poor condition in too many spots. The tee boxes were terrible chewed up, and clearly needed to be moved.
If the upkeep of the course were better, this would be a full 4 star course.
Three different 18 holes courses on site.
This golf course actually has three different 18 holes courses at it. The Pioneer is the easiest.
The Willows is the next hardest. And the Fox Run is by far the hardest course there.
All three are very nice courses.
Worth Every Penny
Kenton County Willows is a great coarse! Excellent condition, great value, always fun to play. 136 Slope off the yellow tee's makes it still very challenging. Love this coarse and will certainly play again.
