Nice course, odd layout on Wildcat 18
Playing partner told me they recently changed some holes on Wildcat course. Very odd routing at the turn. Number 9 is probably a quarter mile or further from the clubhouse...making just going to the bathroom at the turn a bit of a chore. It was really hot the day we played and there was NO water anywhere to be had on the course and we didn't see a beverage cart until about hole 14. At the turn the beverage cart was sitting empty by the entrance to the concession stand.
So overall, a nice course with modest price. But the new course layout is odd, and lack of water and no beverage cart on a blistering hot day is hard to understand.
Great experience
Course was in good condition. Played early in the AM, and there was no one in front of us, so we were able to play in just over 3 hours. My son hadn't played Wildcat before, and this turned out to be one of his new favorites. Overall, a very high quality experience.
Nice course No water in sight
I like this course and they have made some improvements to it over the years. The sand traps have decent sand in them now. The condition of the tee boxes and fairways was very good. The greens for the most part were in very good shape. There were some bad spots here and there, but overall they were good. The worst of it all was the lack of water on the course. Several years ago they changed the tees around making it that you didn't come by the clubhouse until you were going from 16 to 17. Because they had no water available on the Wildcat course you remained pretty dry until you at least finished 16. Being the home course for the Kentucky Wildcats one would think they would provide water coolers throughout the course.
Course in great shape
Driving range is great place to practice.
Fairways were hard and fast even after a rain. Greens are in good shape, sad other golfers don’t feel it necessary to repair their ball divots.
I played through GOLFNOW so very good value.
Would definitely play there again
GOLFNOW hot deal
The course was in great condition for hot summer days. The greens were in great shape, a little slow but understandable with so many sunny days. Played the wildcat course and never waited on any hole. Great day and friendly people all around. The driving range facilities were fantastic too!
Nice Course !!!
First time playing here was very surprised , course was busy , some of the greens were spotty but overall nice experience , will be back .
Course in ROUGH condition...
This is the 3rd time I played this course. The first time was the best time for course conditions. The 2nd time the greens and fairways were up high or shaggy. It was this way again. i swore the 2nd time I wouldn't play this course again but was talked into it with buddies. I won't play it again, I like the layout on 3-4 holes. I shot 75 with SHAGGY GREENS. I think I should of paid the extra $9 and played Big Blue!!!! Our local public Canewood course has better greens and fairways for $27.
very nice course.
Great value for the money. staff extremely helpful and friendly. Will definitely play again.
Wildcat course
Nice course overall. Driving range was nice, putting green was spacious, tee boxes were in great shape.
Course had a lot of blind shots which I don’t like, but makes it challenging. Bunkers were in great shape and raked, could have had water coolers on course or someone coming around with drinks, but had nice restaurant/bar at clubhouse! I will go back, beautiful place!
Great course, good pace, great conditions
Opted for the Wildcat over Big Blue because it wasn’t nearly as busy, and am more than happy with that decision. Conditions were great throughout the course. The layout provided different types of challenges that made for a very fun round. Went back and played it again a few days later and had a blast!
Wildcat course
Course was in good condition. Greens were divot free. Fairways were in good condition, and the rough was just that. Rough. Had a great time. Just be weary of mosquitos.
Great Day on the Cat
We really enjoyed our day playing the Wildcat. Staff was friendly and helpful. Course was in good shape.
Wildcat course
The course was in good shape and I enjoyed the layout. The only issue was the pace of play. Two foursomes in front of me were playing some form of scramble where they all played the same shot and they were extremely slow. So be it, I was in no hurry. But the jerk behind me was. He hit his approach on 3 and 4 as I was walking off the green and on 5 as I was waiting in the middle of the fairway his ball sailed over my head. He apologized kinda but I offered to let him play through so he wouldn’t be pushing me all day and he blew up. Cussed me, wanted to fight…acted like a child. I’m 61, not 12…I’m not going to fight on the golf course because someone wants the be an idiot. I’m sure it’s not that way all the time because it’s a really decent course, I just wanted to vent.
