Greens were closed, no notice
Reserved a round online for two last Sunday morning. When we arrived we were notified that the greens are closed, so the flags have been placed in the fairways.
It was too late to get a tee time anywhere close. No discount was offered for the fact we had to put on the fairways.
Call the Police
It is a crime to call this a good course. All greens were closed due to damage caused by chemical. No sign posted at the pro shop to advise you that the greens were all damaged. The excuse offered by the kid who check is in was that it is stated on their website.
Greens are all dead/mud.
Someone sabotaged the water to kill the grass on all the greens. Go to a different course. Canewood is not even playable. Don’t even think about spending a dollar here.
No grass on the green
We drove over an hour to play this course. Staffs were very nice but the course was by far the worst corse I’ve ever played. Teeing ground and fairway were okay but greens were nothing but painted dry mud. Literally no grass!
I don’t know what happened to the greens but they are absolutely not playable condition. Even though I am a die hard golfer, I didn’t enjoy golfing at all.
Canewood Green Atrocious
We went this weekend to play this course and drove about 25 miles to get there. At the clubhouse the guy said that the greens were in "average" but when we went to the first green, there was literally NO grass. It was like it was painted green. The condition of the course was atrocious. We went to next and it was in the same horrible coniditon. Literally there was no grass and the whole green was choppy, bumpy and it was like playing on glass. We turned back to clubhouse and asked for our money back and I got to give credit to management for honoring it but i wouldnt advise ANYONE to go play this course. IT IS IN A VERY BAD CONDITION.
COURSE IS IN TERRIBLE CONDITION
The staff is friendly and we had no problem getting a tee time. Obviously after we played the reason was clear. The course is in terrible condtion. We traveled an hour to get here and play and were able to get the senior rate. In all my years playing golf, this is by far the worse course I ever played on. The greens were in dispare and in need of total overhaul. All the greens were diseased and nearly non existant. Not only that the greens are very small and look like an afterthought. The fairways were just ok but well behind their cutting schedule. Tee boxes are better and much bigger than the greens. I will never go back and if I wasn't with 18 of my buddies, I would have walked off and requested my money back.
Fun place to play
Excellent course, first time playing, water got me early but shotmaking on the back (required)
Made this a memorable round.
Greens are amazing. Rough was high but mowers were out in force…..sand was surprisingly nice. I played courses all around Lexington, and I will definitely be back.
Course requires good shot making with some very tight shots, but you can score on many of the holes.
Warch out for water!
Great Georgetown course
Course is challenging & has multiple tee box's for all golfers. Fall play need to watch each other's gilf balls to find quicker with leaves starting to fall.
