Walden Golf Club

We played after an early morning rain and the course was cart path only, but in remarkable shape. They have added new carts, signage, and club/ball cleaning stations on every other hole.

Can’t say enough about the staff at the course. Check in was smooth and friendly. The snack/food bar staff was very accommodating, as this is a slow time, but they offered to prepare whatever we wanted to eat.

Can’t wait to get back to play there, especially in the Spring and warmer weather.

Walden has a variety of interesting holes with enough challenges for both high and low handicaps. Conditions of the tees and fairways were spotty due to re-seeding so it was sometimes difficult to find decent grass to hit off of.

Greens were in excellent condition. Conditions of bunkers varied from decent to water filled.

Overall, a decent round at a decent price and would like to play again if grass fills in on fairways and tees.

1.There were no tumblers to drink water

2. There were no facilities to clean balls along the course.

3. The grass has not been cut in a long while.

The greens are decent for the most part, but everything else needs serious work. Fairways have aerated (slits) which isn't bad, but the lack of grass at all in many places is disturbing. Most of the tees are just as bad. On many holes you are somewhat better off being in the rough so you have some green vegetation to hit off of.

Today's round was cart-path only due to lack of rain. That's the first time I've ever encountered path only due to being too dry.

A lot of the course is burnt... but we are in a really bad drought ... got a hot deal for $13... well worth the $13... course is tight and in a residential area... so some of the holes are pretty challenging... some of the greens were in great shape but some other greens had some damage/issues... they aerated the fairways recently so some of the fairways were in bad shape... but again maybe my disappointment is because of the drought, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt on my star ratings... but if I had paid full price I would be disappointed...

Golf Course is normally in great shape, Wednesday September 11th could not drive on the fairways since they were being aerated and the greens were not in great shape. it definitely was not worth $39 to play! should be advisories when I book tee times on GolfNow if greens and or Fairways are being aerrated

The fairways were being aerated, so carts were restricted to roughs only. This slowed play a bit. Greens were in good shape.

The back nine had been aerated and was closed. The front nine had been aerated the day before. The fairways were closed and all shots had to be from the rough. No discount was offered due to these conditions. We refused to play here considering g the conditions.

We were not informed that they were air rating the back 9 until we arrived, this is a problem with the Golf Now app that needs to be fixed.

The fairways are the worse I have seen all summer. There is so much crab grass we lost balls in the middle of the fairway. This was our first time playing here, it will also be our last. Do not waste your time and money playing here.

Thought I would try this course out since I was in the area and I hadn’t played there in a while. The course was never my favorite due to the length and layout but in the past it was at least in decent shape. Currently this is the worst course I have played in my life by far, and I have played a lot of golf. I’m not sure if they have switched over to new management who have abandoned the course or if the fairways have some sort of disease but the conditions of the course are completely unplayable. By the end of the round I was trying to hit the ball in the rough because the fairways were in such poor shape. Did not see anything but crabgrass the entire round and where there wasn’t crabgrass there was dirt. To add insult to injury we were yelled at by a crotchety old woman who lived near by for driving off the cart path for a split second and ruining this once beautiful course. You are better off going to a driving range or playing a round of putt putt the conditions will be better. Do not waste your time or money.

We are beginners to the sport and this course was great for us. Challenging but not intimidating. It was also reassuring to us that the caliber of play around us was comparable to ours. We enjoyed our round and will definitely return for more golf here. Paying through Golf Now was easy and we were in and out of the pro shop in minutes.

Had a later tee time as part of the Best Deal, but they allowed us to tee off about 50 mins earlier. This was a big deal considering it was the middle of August and the heat index was through the roof. The staff was friendly and understanding.

Today I thought get out for a nice round of golf...played front side in a really reasonable time. However, when I came to the back side hole ten had a group on it, and it got worse ahead of this group. There’s no doubt in my mind these groups started on number 10. Typical for course’s that don’t account for there golfers. I waited so long I eventually bypassed and went to front side to get in a few more holes. I was then stopped by an individual that wanted to check my ticket for it’s validity. Of course it was, however, he said there was no way it took me this long to play and I’d have to leave the course. I would say to anyone give this course a try and see if you get your value for your money. Anyone that plays a reasonable round of golf ... This course will leave you dissatisfied. I have probably played on a more poorly maintained course, but I can’t remember when. They pride themselves on the difficulty of the course, and that is fine, but if you’re going to make the layout difficult, you need to maintain the fairways and tee boxes. Most of the fairways and approaches are hitting off sand and the greens are all pock marked. The grassy parts of the fairways are crabgrass. I can’t recommend this course.

The course conditions were disappointing. There were many bare spots in many fairways. Some greens had bare spots.

Course has a good layout and was in good shape. There are a few risk/reward opportunities that require a well placed shot. Pace of play seems to always be good.
