Poor course conditions
Fairways were filled with uncut crab grass. Greens were in exceptionally poor shape especially hole 15. Tee time was 11:32AM and we were a threesome and didn't finish till 4:30PM due to average wait time at tee box of 10 minutes every hole. Never saw a ranger or a cart girl the whole time. I realize it's fall and the leaves are an issue but on the vast majority of holes leaves were a serious issue on the already poor greens. They could really improve things by simply raking the leaves off the green every morning.
Nice Hidden Cource
I have played Walden several time before in fact our business use to run it's annual golf tournmaent there. The Fairways are excellent but the rough / Frindge is way to tall and fluffy. not in the fairway easlily loss ball. Lots of woods and homes plays more like a Links course very little to no forgiveness for the novice or average golfer. The greens were in Average shape but no two played or rolled the same and lots of divots not repaired even though the provide fairway repair and all golfers should repair green marks. All in all a great day would have liked the course more if it was a little better kept.
Good Value for the price
Played by myself in the early AM. Fairways and greens were good. Very tight on most holes with a lot of environmental hazards. A lot of layup holes because of the environmental hazards. The price was very reasonable.
great round
Had a great time, great conditions. Will definitely come again.
Good course, with good variety of challenges.
I was just visiting in the area, and decided to play a round. The course grounds is huge! I don't think you could walk the course, if you wanted to. I did not use the food or beverage services.
This was my first time at this course, and I thought the course layout and design is great. It includes including hidden dog legs, hills, and water hazards. Some greens are pretty close to residential houses, which, as a novice golfer, made me nervous on some my approaches. My only two complaints, are: A) some of the holes are not easily marked, so going from one hole to the next isn't always obvious. B) the course condition was great, but on some holes, even though the rough is cut to only about 3-4 inches high, the grass is so "bushy" or "fluffy", unless your ball lands on the fairway, you probably won't find it.
Stay away!
So I arrived 10 minutes prior to tee off, waiting 5 minutes, no one still. Decided to go change, came back, still no one. I had to go searching for a staff member that would take my money. I walk out the door and the only pleasant surprise was a new golf cart. I head to 1st tee...needless to say this is the worst maintained course I have EVER played on, I could all the problems but there is not enough room. Here are the worst errors: bare dirt tee boxes, no yardages, bare fairways, and to top it off, just aerated greens with enough sand applied to them to pass for the Sahara.
Excellent, challenging course
Let me start with the point that the turf crew were aerating the greens when I golfed, so I did not get a great performance out of my putting game much to my chagrin as I was in the zone on everything else.
The course was in fantastic shape with some truly fantastic holes. The tees were in great shape despite the fact that it is at the end of the season. There were several tees that had been re-sodded in parts and appeared relatively recent. It is nice to see a Super take that much care heading into the end of the season.
Fairways were lush and had a great mix between being narrow and wide.
The course is quite challenging, at least for a relative novice like myself, with a good bit of elevation changes, numerous forced carries and well placed traps and bunkers. If you aren't on it, you can lose quite a few balls easily.
I got a great deal through Golfnow, but even at regular price, I will most definitely be coming back for more rounds.
Great course with a few minor problems
Me and my friend who play once a week played here on a Thursday morning and it was great. The course wasn't too busy so we never felt rushed to finish our round. The only few complaints we had about the course is the rough was very soft so your ball sank into the grass due to it being a little longer then normal. Also a few of the greens had bare patches and it made putting on them very unpleasant.
The golf cart we had had very awful brakes and was had to stop or keep stopped on a hill and was a little annoying.
The fairways of the course were very well maintained not very set even though we had rain two days prior. The tee boxes were in awesome shape with tee positions in challenging spots for the pin locations.
The pro shop was very pricy on the 3 drinks we bought costed $9
Great Course
My girlfriend and I really enjoyed this course. The course was very strategically designed which made it more challenging but a lot more fun in my opinion. On most holes using your driver would get in you trouble. Fairways and greens were great. Only flaw I noticed is that there were very few yardage to green markers. But, I think I'm spoiled with every where else I play so this only made it a little more challenging. Lots of fun!!
Poor Pace of Play management
Had a 7:32 tee time . The course had let several groups play with five. Made the course play slow for the whole round!! What course would allow multiple groups of five on a Sunday morning who were NOT accomplished golfers. No rangers to be seen. WILL NEVER PLAY AT THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!!

What you'd expect for the price
The course was very narrow and contains some difficult water traps. As a beginner it seemed to swallow balls as a result. The course is located in a residential neighborhood and tons of houses surround the course. We heard quite a few other groups hit off decks, roofs, and siding; but luckily no windows. You do have to cross the street with your cart several times.
The greens were in rough shape and the tee boxes were even worse, doesn't look like they were moved around much or tended with feed mix. Didn't end up in a sand trap but they looked okay from what I saw passing by.
Course wasn't crowded but staff was MIA upon arrival, took about 10-15 minutes to get a cart since no one was covering that spot when we showed up, once we did we immediately went out without a starter spacing groups, possibly because it seemed to be a slow day. The staff we met were friendly but the setup seems disorganized.
Probably would not go back but that's more to do with not wanting to risk breaking a window or losing balls in water traps than being put off by poor course conditioning.
Positives: nice gas cart with ball & club washers in the back. Cheap round with available times.
Negatives: poor course conditions and disorganized staff.
A hidden gem
I thought I would give the course another try. The first time I played the greens and fairways were in poor shape. I was so glad I tried it again. The course isn't particularly long but the tree line fairways and water make it challenging for all levels. The course gets a little tight and there are times you need to lay up to minimize danger. Overall, a really nice course.
Short course in poor condition
It seems as though this course was once in pristine shape and was supposed to be an upscale place, it is in terrible shape. The tee boxes are dirt, and the rest of the course isn't much better. Many better courses in the area at comparable if not better prices.
Challenging with Diffucult tee shots
This course is not a walk in the park. Each hole presents a unique set of challenges. It is not a grab the driver and go. The course itself was in ok shape. Some greens were a bit burnt out or sandy. Tee boxes are sparse in areas. Fairways were mostly good.
Course conditions inconsistent
Branches block path of some tee shots, 2 greens on back 9 areunplayable.
Great value
The staff is very friendly and the pace of play was great. I was part of a twosome and the foursome in front let us play through. Great value with with the Golf. Now discount. Course is narrow, common to lose balls. Be careful, lots of homes on the course are easily reachable. Fairways and greens have spots where the grass is not full. No GPS on the cart, so bring your range finder. I played from the senior tees so holes were reachable. Had a great time.
Good conditions
I have played this course on and off with my son. We played past weekend and very nice weather. The course was in good shape. Very nice people and great value. I will keep coming back.
Badly Maintained
From kids fishing off of a cart bridge in the middle of a fairway to people walking there dogs or just walking themselves it felt like i was playing golf in a public park
Good luck finding grass
From tee box to green count yourself lucky if you find a patch of grass amid all the crab grass and dirt patches everywhere. Quit after 9 hole because I was so fed up with it. The only reason the pace of play was so fast was because the weather was sub-par. Even on the most beautiful of days this course isn't worth it.
