Cartpaths are terrible
If you enjoy bouncing around and running through potholes you'll like bowie other than that it's an excellent golf course
The course is great - the amenities not so much.
We like Bowie because it is close to home - nice course with some challenges. The course itself is in great shape. But:
* Bathroom facilities were awful - for 5 years now there has been a trailer behind the clubhouse with a men’s room, a women’s room, and a family room - yesterday two of those three were out of order - women had to use the mens’ room and it was FILTHY. We finally got the staff to agree to let us. use the one indoor bathroom reserved for staff, but we had to ask for the clubhouse to be unlocked so we could get in.
* food - the grill was closed
Food is less of an issue, but the bathroom situation was completely unacceptable - staff claimed that the City of Bowie (which owns the course) was aware and was awaiting parts - seem to me that the trailer should have been hauled out and replaced.
As I said, we like Bowie but not sure we would go back until these issues are addressed.
Bowie Golf Course Review 9/21/22
Have played for several years and the new Management Team (INDIGO) has significantly improved the Course playing conditions. Noted Storm damage is to be removed in the late Fall.
Good to go
Course is challenging yet yardage under 6000 from whires.
Like most courses, no warer but nice cart lady.
Sandwich shop usually closed, well at least on Sundays..
Nice course though.
Don't waste your money
Tee boxes and fairways need a lot of work. There are many downed trees that need to be removed. The cart path is horrible. Definitely need a more friendlier starter.
Save your money and play the another course. Will not be returning here.
Excellent value...
I've lived in the area and never played the course until now. The course layout is great, especially the back 9. The front 9 is the warm-up. Conditions are fair at bests. Tee boxes are terrible and the cart paths are non-existent at times. But the fairways and greens are in good condition. Greens were firm and rolled fair. Not too fast, not too slow. The course overall could be a bit longer, but for $45 on a Saturday, like the title says, excellent value for the money.
