Bowie Golf Club

I've lived in the area and never played the course until now. The course layout is great, especially the back 9. The front 9 is the warm-up. Conditions are fair at bests. Tee boxes are terrible and the cart paths are non-existent at times. But the fairways and greens are in good condition. Greens were firm and rolled fair. Not too fast, not too slow. The course overall could be a bit longer, but for $45 on a Saturday, like the title says, excellent value for the money.

According to the website, the course is under new management. Unfortunately, the starter is the same rude curmudgeon from before.

I paid $50 with a senior discount booked through GolfNow. The two guys that played with us only paid $35.00 each without GolfNow. What was the benefit of using GolfNow. We paid total $105.00 verses $70.00

I like to play at Bowie Golf course. However, need some maintenance on greens. Greens were slow with lot of ball marks . Looks like players are not repairing their ball marks. Cart path definitely needs upgrade. Fairways were were in good shape. Need to recalibrate yardages on the score card or those marked on permanent markers.

The course was in great shape. However, the Cafe was not open and you could not get any beer unless you asked when checking in for your tee time. Even then, I was told I could not buy beer, only Gatorade or water. The Cafe has been a disappointment since the course reopened in November 2021.

The course is playable whites just under 6,000 yards.

The snack bar was closed this particular Sunday. I have seen the snack bar closed or open sporadically.

There should be water stations filled with ice water. Covid shouldn't be an excuse any longer.

Overall, good value for the buck.

Fairways and greens are much improved over previous years. Much cleanup needs to be done in treed areas from earlier summer storms but they’re working at it. Need some work on the cart paths as well. Overall, a really good experience.
