The course is in rough conditions there no good signs to help you navigation the course. The course is taken a beating base on how much is it used. They need to shut it down and let it rest but they seem to want the money more than giving a good course.
No staff
Got to our tee time and there were no carts ready and available. Waited almost 20 minutes before being able to tee off. Ended up being put behind a group because of the wait that played like snails. The cart died on the second hole and took almost 30 minutes until we got a replacement cart. Ended up only getting in 10 holes because of the wasted almost hour.
Golf in December
It was fun & the course was in good shape for late December a few days after some snow! Can’t beat playing just before Christmas in Maryland!
Golf at Oak Creek
I love this golf course, in fact I’ll say it’s my home course. Challenging layout but fun to play.
Fun, Challenging Course
Nice little surprise about 15 min off of 495! First time playing and had a great time. A lot of opportunities to hit fairways, but major punishments if you don't given the hazards are not too far off the fairways and the rough was thin in some places. This could mean longer waits at each hole, but fortunately, the group before us wasn't at the first tee early, so the starter let us jump them (never saw them till the back nine)
Don't know if they let you walk the course or not, but to me it's not walkable; lot of long cart drives between 5 or 6 of the holes. Enjoyable to drive through the trees/community. Fairway/green undulations made the course challenging, yet fun. Definitely will be back!
Good shape for November
Relatively good shape for late fall. Fairways are wonderful to hit on. Rough a bit sparse, but understandable from the high play volume and excess rain. I thought it was a bit backwards to have us ride in rough instead of on the Bermuda fairway? Love the layout.
1st time
It was my first time playing Oak Creek. The staff was extremely friendly. The course was in great job for the time of year. I would recommend playing this course.
Good course
Had an issue with a slow threesone in front of us...from hoke 2 on...course was still wet from torrential rains a few days ago, and a lot of leacvs/stuff on the greens...I understand how nature works, but send a couple if guys around to blow the greens clear every once in awhile...
Course in Great Condition
I typically play Oak Creek several times a year, but this year this wound up being my first time. I was pleasantly surprised at the great course conditions. The fairways were in great shape, as were the bunkers, tee boxes, and greens. The greens weren't as fast as I remembered, but they have a lot of undulations and the pins were in tough spots...made for an interesting putting day! The only negative is that the course was a little wet and "spongy" in places, so you had to watch where you walked, but they still let us drive on the most of the fairways. The staff is always extremely nice and accommodating, and they put us out a tee time earlier because people were late arriving for their tee time. (Good thing, because we never saw the group behind us after the first hole.) The Oak Creek layout is a tad challenging...on the surface it looks like wide fairways and big greens...however, if you are the slightest bit errant, you're going to be in trouble in either the woods, out of bounds, or penalty areas. And, there are a lot of "bad bounces" on the hole edges. Hit the fairway should be your mantra for the day.
