Bowie Golf Club Course Teview
Great course in really goid condituon. Greens were in excellent condition. Fun course for mid to high handicaps, challenging but not overly difficult.
Cart path is danger
Greens arecrolling well , fairways are OK, tree boxes soso but cart path is straight up dangerous ..
First time
Greens and fairways were is very good shape, although the greens were slow. Layout is forgiving, meaning it's easy to find a ball off the fairway or in the woods. The driving range and cart paths need work. Pace was not a problem, and the staff was great.
Driving Range
The course is very well maintained. The greens are near perfect.
The driving range tee pads need renovation. None of the tee pads have rubber tees so you cannot practice with your woods.
A lot of work going on
There is A LOT of work being put into this course and it shows. The greens are looking good and I think with the effort they’re putting in, the fairways and surrounding areas will come around as well. These things don’t happen overnight, so it will take a season or two but things are headed in the right direction.
When I played on 9/9, the greens were pretty hard. It took me a while, but I figured out I could land the ball short and let it take a big hop onto the green. There has been no rain in our area for a while, hence the hard greens.
Cart Path is horrible
Greens in good shape. Fairways are Fair at best and the cart path is a nightmare!!
Nice course with friendly staff and affordable. Just wish there was a way to enforce players to repair ball marks on the greens and pick up their feet around the flag stick. Not just here at Bowie but all courses. I guess this is a direct result of the faster pace of play that most courses are pushing. Slow down and play the game the way it was intended to be played.
Great Value
I always recommend Bowie. The course is not long, but there are a number of challenging holes out there. The course was in good shape, and with a special reduced rate via GolfNow it was a tremendous value for a Sunday noon tee time.
