Friendly Golfing Experience
Good golfing experience by everyone in our foursome.
Enjoyed the scarcity of rough around the greens that presented putting possibilities from 10-20 yds. out.
Greens were medium speed that were starting to show some effects of abundant play.
Nice course but bad decision by the starter
Nice course great layout. Greens ran a little slow due to previous day rain and not being rolled but still consistent.
Play was crazy slow as the starter squeezed a twosome before us which makes no sense on a early Saturday am. We waited on 75% of the holes because of this, wasn’t for that the round would have been good.
Straight over Long
It's important to be straight because they don't want you traipsing around in "The Preserve" area of the deep rough. The fairways are not terribly narrow but once you get past that first cut of rough forget about it. Just take the drop.
Very Challenging Cource
Great value for your buck . Especially if you live in county. Pace of play was excellent. Course is challenging but fair. Greens are in great shape and fairways are beautiful. Can’t wait to go back and play there again .
Fun Course
Very nice course and layout, Greens we’re in very good shape although a little slow but that will probably change in time. Fairways and tea boxes in great shape. I’ve played several times since the reopening and each time the pace of play was very slow. In fact unacceptably so, to the point that we had to cut our round short. We did see marshals but whatever they were doing was apparently not effective. This really needs to change. At Queenstown for example the marshals are very good in enforcing pace of play but doing it in a friendly manner reminding people that they need to keep up with the group in front of them even if they need to pick the ball up and move to the next hole in order to do so. They catch slow players quickly to get them to speed up before the whole course gets backed up. This makes for an enjoyable experience for all the players most of whom understand that a golf around should not take longer than four hours and 15 minutes. This expectation should be posted on each golf cart and in the pro shop at sign in.
Nice course; Too slow
I realize that a lot of resources were put into this course to make it a better place to play. And I also understand, in the interest of keeping up a reasonable pace that tee times are spaced at every 12 minutes.
The course is fine; the pace of play not. From the 4th hole on we had to wait; sometimes for a long time. Best I can tell, the main slow down was people spending an inordinate amount of time on the greens. I really would encourage management to use a marshall to move people on; putting need not take forever. I played Bowie today which, I believe, has 8 minute tee times; we moved well through 18 holes because the golfers there understood there were many behind them and things need to move well. That was not the case here. We finally quit after 11 holes.
Nice course, beautiful layout, no bunkers though. Greens were a tad slow, but they did get an inch of rain the night before. I’d play it again & I would recommend it for play if your traveling around maryland.
They need a clubhouse. Right now the pro shop & food/bev grill is out of a small module, still nice. Great staff, very attentive.

Amazing transition rom the old course to the new "Preserve".
Sand traps rep[laced with nice elevation changes. Fantastic transformation with the undulating greens and "moguls" in the fairways.
Hope is will be able to withstand the abuse from the public!
Excellent Local course
Course is in very good shape. Fairways and greens play solid and fast. You need to stay on the fairways or it is easy to lose balls in the rough. Not a fan of the hummocks and would rather have sand traps but that is one of the challenges of the course. Overall a very good course especially for AA county residents and seniors with their special rates.
Great for a state owned course
The new course is fantastic. Because it just reopened and the popularity of golf following the pandemic, it’s been played very heavily. They could benefit from more staff and less tee times. The rates are already high for a public course but it would probably do everything they need through premium pricing. Afford more staff, take down some of those tee times effecting the rate of play, and allow the course to recover from heavy play. From the black tee’s the course is very challenging but from the greens it’s much more approachable for a higher handicap player. They would also benefit from a little more creativity in the kitchen and carts. It’s annapolis, people have money. Make the tee times $125 and it’ll solve all of these issues

An excellent renovation effort that was worth the wait
First impressions
Course has yet to fill in, recover yet opened for play after a long 2yr renovation. Fairways & tee boxes were rather surprisingly a bit dried out. Planted thick sod for the rough still needs be be blended in on several of the holes as it appears to be recently added. Bunkers were removed as part of the redesign.
Greens were immaculate, albeit slow. Many were enlarged adding tiers & undulations. Bathrooms in the clubhouse apparently are only reserved for staff & handicapped. I only learned of this after I was rudely shooed away & told to go to a remote bathroom trailer where I was soon to find unstocked & horrid conditions. Disgusting. And how could this happen only hours into your first day open? With the months & months of build up & excitement I was looking for my expectations to be met. Eager to track developments on future play.
