Wonderful golf course
I've played Timbers four or five times over the past three years. It is always a great experience. the course is in excellent condition. the staff always pleasant. pace of play great on a wednesday afternoon. It is easily one of the best courses in the DC, MD, Va area. I look forward to playing again. round would have cost $40 but I used my golfnow credits so only paid $5 bucks for range balls! great day all around.
Timbers
Course is in good condition. The greens had some issues with ball marks and were a little slow but, it's a public course.
Nice layout
Good challenging local course from the first tee to the last. Course management is key but don’t be tempted to drive some of the shorter par 4’s.
Short but challenging
this course is a Short but challenging place to play,
While it does not have a same length or water hazards as other premier courses in the area it is built to challenge you,
Around most greens there are tons of softball white sand that will give you fits if you get in them, also the small greens on the course have almost no fair way to play up to the green in which make you have to land it right on,
Also there allot of up hill and down hill shots that make things a bit more challenging because of all the different slopes,
The grass care here was very good (maintenance wise) almost no yellow spots or patchy ness around the course which make you feel like the extra money you spent was worth it,
Finally my negative which might not be even really about the course which is that people did not do there part to keep things nice, I believe a tournament was played right before I arrived and not a hole lot of effort was made to fill in divots with seed and grass chunks,
Luckily I only had one ball get into someone else’s divot on the day so it wasn’t bad but this is the only reason I don’t rank this course even higher,
Overall I will defiantly be back the fun layout really makes this a course where you can play the same ball the whole day but don’t feel like every hole is the same
Hidden gem
Loved the play of this course. Challenging and yet not too much for a beginner. Fairways were great and the greens were amazing!! Considering playing this again soon.
Good shape for this time of year
The course is beginning to grow in with the fairways and greens needing the most attention..
Hopefully, May will be better than April.
I can play with so so fairways and rough areas. However, I did not enjoy the greens.
They are in pretty bad conditions.
Ok play
The course has seen better days. Many tee boxes are in repair and the fairways are spotty at the best. The cold winter has taken its toll on the course throughout and it will need a strong spring of maintenance to recover well.
