Great condition and shot variety
Course was in great shape besides a few greens. Lots of different holes, not necessary to driver a lot. Pace of play was great for front 9 then got backed up a bit on the back. Will definitely be back though.
Not bad for the price
I hadn't played this course in about 10 yrs and was surprised at the decline in maintenance. The bunkers were horrible and some of them had just been removed. What was weird was that some of the holes were still in great condition and then others were torn up badly. I was very happy with the golf now hot deal of 31 bucks including a cart on a Friday mid day.
review title here
not a long course, but a good challenge. the tee boxes were very chewed up but the greens were mostly well maintained. would recommend.
day out with old friends
The pace of play was great and Marshall made sure everything was fine
First Time Player
What a way to start Father's Day Weekend. Played a round with my brother and one of my best friends. The best friend lives on the golf course and it was a great day. Professional and courteous treatment from the time I drove up until I drove away. Food was tasty, golf staff in pro shop were very helpful and friendly. Course condtions were great. Greens were true and you had to think your way around the course. Has been added to my must play list when I am in the area.
Super Fast Round
Played at 10:12 on a Saturday and was done in under 4:20. Never waited a single time. Course was in good shape but some of the bunkers were unplayable. GOod day
Sunday church alternative
The weather was great, so it was no surprise that the course was crowded. The staff was friendly and accommodating and worked hard to keep everyone moving.
The course has a decent blend of hilly and flat holes which provides a good blend of challenges.
Course in best condition in several years.
The course is in good to excellent condition. The bunkers have been greatly improved over past years. The pace of play was above average. The staff at the course was friendly and courteous.
Challenging Course
A lot of blind shots and environmental areas force you to lay up a lot. Must have patience to play this course. Course is tight, so if you aren't a straight hitter, you are going to lose some golf balls.
Always difficult, not as pristine as I remember ...
The Timbers is a generally difficult test but all the tees were way up today and that made it quite a bit easier. The layout is challenging with trouble on one side on each hole. The greens seemed to be cut longer and were slower, which also made the course easier. This course usually gets a lot of play but was deserted on this day as it was supposed to rain and didn't. It is usually too pricey for me but the $22 hot deal was a bargain even if conditions were slightly less good than I remembered from previous years.
Needing improvements
overall the course was nice. there are some improvements that need to be made though however.
I played one week prior to this last outing right after they airated and the greens were still bumpy, the sand traps need a little work as well. they need to add sand.
Overall I like this course and would love to play it more but the price needs to come down a little bit for this to happen. there are better courses in the area for the price.
bumpy greens
Over all the course was in good shape. The greens were hard & very bumpy. The ball always bounced half the way to the hole - no matter the putt distance. The greens still need work.
poorly run
The course was in fair condition. I hadn't play err d here in few years, but I seemed to remember it as being kept in better condition. The starter told us we would be playing directly after a group with 15 tee times, so we didn't expect a quick round. Somehow there was a 3 group back up on the second hole. We called and asked for the Marshall. He apologised. We waited on every hole. The Marshall came around a few holes later and apologised again, but said there was nothing he could do. When we complained after the round, they gave us ranchers. That will be the only reason I'll go back.
Pace of Play terrrible - Marshalls are worthless
Took over an hour before we could tee off on the 3rd hole. Complaints to marshalls only resulted in excuses. They allowed fivesomes on a busy Saturday. Took almost 6 hours for 18 holes - inexcusable!!!!! Sand traps need work.
this course is fantastic
This course is fantastic. .. the only thing I would improve is the quality of the greens and bunkers.
Greens need time
This is a fun course to play, greens still need time to heal from aereating, given the cool wet weather forecast for this week, probably won't be back to normal for a couple of weeks.
Not worth a trip
Course is way overpriced for what it is. Has some interesting holes, but the condition was awful. Patchy rough everywhere, greens were bumpy and shaggy and the bunkers were mostly just mud pits. Avoid this place.
Beautiful course....slow pace7
The course was beautiful, but the starter let a lot of twosomes out. This would not have been a problem, but at hole 5 the twosome in front of us caught up to a VERY slow moving 3some. by hole 11 there were 4 twosomes backed up and it stayed that way for the rest of the round. Marshall never addressed it with the offending party. At one point 3 of them spent 7 minutes putting out. (Can you tell this was irritating.)
Course was in great shape. Greens were soft - but it had been very wet. The course was renewing the sand in traps, but some were not done yet.
Because I got a good price from GolfNow....it was worth it. I don't think it would have been at the regular price.
Alert: Aerated greens
It is time to aerate the greens. But there are a lot of dime size holes that are not filled with sand and they were slow especially back nine. Some of the bunkers are in bad shape.
Greeat course - needs work
Needs work on sand traps and yardage markers and bare spots resulting from cart trafic.
