Clustered Spires Golf Course

The course was pretty wet, but playable. The rough had not been cut for a while...it was so long, trying to hit a ball out of it was tough. The grass would grab the club and the ball would just spit out of the grass in every direction but the one you wanted. The bunkers were packed down. And, the fairways needed cutting as well. We were stacked up because of a couple of groups in front of us who were slow. In fairness to them, though, they may have had trouble finding their ball in the long rough! I like this course, and believe it will be in better condition in the next month or so. I thought it was a bit overpriced for the conditions.

Played day after severe thunderstorms the day before. Cart path only but well drained, only few perimeter puddles off the fairway. Fairways freshly mowed- great shape. Greens pretty smooth for this early in season.

Starter let us go early, great pace of play.

Great day all around- will lay again even though I belong to private club.

It was a beautiful day and the course did not disappoint. I only got a chance to play the front 9 but it was fun and challenging. Just wish the pace of play was a little bit quicker.

Love this course. Very forgiving and reasonably priced. Always fun to play all year long. Best hot dogs at the clubhouse. Friendly staff too. Cant wait to return.

Due to cold weather, there was frost delay. Otherwise the course was in great condition despite being winter. The winter rates are too expensive. The weekday rates should be less than 40.

Great course in close proximity to downtown Frederick. Their regular prices are too expensive, but there are occasional deals on GolfNow that can get you decent prices.

I am a novice just learning the game. I specifically requested to play alone so that my slow pace of play does not hold up others. I was told that would not be a problem. When I arrived I was told I had to play in a foursome. When I told them of my request I was told it was not possible due to the volume of players who had reservations. Well I agreed but only after warning the other 3 in the group of my lack of skills. By the second hole I could see the level of frustration on my fellow golfers. I told them to play ahead as I noticed there was no one playing behind us. As I played on I noticed at least 4 other golfers playing alone and still no one playing behind me. I was mad as this was not the first I was forced to play in a group after requesting to play alone. At the end of the round I requested to speak with the manager and was told to wait. After 20 minutes of waiting I asked again to speak to the manager and was told that he had left for the day. Talk about mad! I then explained the situation to the guy taking care of the carts. He said the club tends to play favorites with frequent players and members but never the less my request should have been honored. I will give this course one more shot only because it is close to my house. If I am treated this way again they will never see me again and I will make sure all of my friends on social media are aware of the poor customer service provided on this course.

Course was in very good condition despite the rain played very nicely.

Probably one of the nicest courses in the area and a steal at the price point. Open fairways, with large greens that make it seem, from a distance, that they should be easy. The large greens have rolls that can challenge you but not to the point of frustration for beginner golfers.
