Good layout, poor maintenance
Overall the course layout is great fun track for sure. But unfortunately they are cheap when it comes to course maintenance. No complaints about the greens but the fairways are not level in sports where irrigation lines run due to land settling. The fairways also are missing a decent amount of grass, no one seems to fill divots. The course had bunkers they’ve filled in years ago and they used poor quality rocky clay like soil so the grass is slim to none. Tee boxes could use TLC and leveling.
Overall the course has potential if they put a little more money into it. Seems to me they aren’t interested in improving the course at all and are just milking it for what it’s worth “budget friendly course”

Played this on one of the hottest days of the year so far but still good conditions and great fun. The lounge area was excellent as well.

One Of My Favorite Course
I Love This Course As Usually Always Enjoy. It Took On Some Rain So It Was Cart Path Only Which Really affected My Game. I Shot A 76 But My Son Played Great. It Was Probably The Least Enjoyable Round I’ve Ever Played Here. They Seemed To Be Short Staffed And Crowded On Fathers Day Weekend It Turned Into A 6 Hour Round Which Wore Me Out.
So glad that we are one of your "favorite courses"! We have had four inches of rain this week at Challedon, so we were unfortunately on a Cart Path Only policy. And with 220+ rounds on the tee sheet of a Father's Day weekend and the rain, it was a "Perfect Storm" for slow play. Marshals and starters just weren't enough to speed up play. Still, a 6 hour round very rarely ever happens here. A 76 in those conditions is pretty good!
We hope to see you back again here for a nice quick 3.5 hour round next time. Be sure to hit the Grille next time for a burger or a crab cake! GM Dave

Challadon
Course is in pretty good shape. Fairways could use a little more grass. Tea boxes are pretty good. Pay a play can be slow but more often than not. It’s pretty good pace. We’ll play here again.
So glad thar you are coming back! 8" of rain in two weeks can definitely thin out the turf! The forecast looks fantastic for the next two weeks so we will be in great shape going forward!

Nice place, cart's were gross.
Very nice of course. The carts are in really poor shape. Sitting in them is distasteful. Colors your whole game.
I've got great news for you!!! Our brand new golf carts from EZGO are scheduled to come in this week!! We are very excited to get them at Challedon! Hopefully in time for your next round! Don't forget to try the burgers and crabcakes at The Grille !

Perfect Outing
Have palyed this course many times... brought 3- 1st timers and they all loved it! Greens perfect, Staff friendly and the food at the clubhouse was great. High marks around!!

First time there
The inside staff and starter were very friendly and helpful. The first 9 holes were great. Everyone moved at a good pace. The back 9 was VERY slow. Not sure why but it was painful. Then the two people behind us kept hitting into us even though we couldnt go anywhere.
So sorry that the pace of play on the back nine was slow on the day that you played! Hopefully you will give us another chance and try the crabcakes when you do! Hopefully your next visit we will get a five star review!! GM Dave
Seaview Stay & Play Golf Package
I can promise you that we are not "cheap" when it comes to maintenance of the course! As with any public course, we are focused on the quality of the putting surfaces, so I'm very happy that you had no complaints about them!! We work on improving the tees, fairways, bunkers every single day. We just aerated, topdressed, seeded and fertilized all of the old bunker sites last week so they are improving as I write this. You are very wrong that we are "not interested in improving the course." Everyone on the maintenance crew busts their humps everyday to do just that. GM Dave
