Tee boxes
There was no mention of the tee boxes being replaced Three of the 3’s were all being rebuilt and was forced to play play from a temporary tee or diirit as I would call them other than that course was in great shape greens rolled true I’ll wait a while before going back.
No more temporary tees at Challedon! The new tee complexes are open! We look forward to seeing you again soon! GM Dave
Only two of the par three holes are temporarily playing from the brand new driving range mats at 100 yards (Hole #12) and 130 yards (Hole #7) from the greens. We just added another tee onto hole #5. We are still playing on the other tees there. So happy that felt that the course is in great shape and that the "greens rolled true!" We work very hard to give the golfers a great experience! Holes #7 and 12 are going to be on temporary tees for a short time while the sod knits in and then everyone will have beautiful new larger level tees to play on! 5 hour round. No Marshall.
Really long round. No Marshall all day so never found out what was happening.
Not sure what happened there. Just looked at the schedule and we had Marshals and Starters at the course from 6:30 am until 7:00 pm. Really sorry about that. Next time please call the Pro Shop at 301-829-3000 to let us know that there is slow play. Be sure to try the crab cakes and burgers at your next visit. We'll definitely get your five star review then!

Pace was slow the day I played
I had a 445 tee time and didn't expect to finish 18 before dark, but my group had to skip a hole because the group ahead of us was a full hole behind. Once we got ahead, we had good pace.

Bad Conditions
80$ to play in a horse pasture! Tee boxes are awful! Fairways are fair. Bunkers unplayable! Greens terrible. Nice golf carts tho! No worth the time to play challedon or the money! At best 35$ golf course. The owner must be not putting the money into this place any longer and it shows! Do not waste your hard earned money and time on this place!
Needs improvements
Currently under construction with tee boxes. Will definitely improve course once completed. Bunkers need sand and rework. Fairways spotty and need treatments.
We have leveled and resodded some of our problem tees. Going forward, the new tees will be great! Five inches of rain in 90 minutes on Thursday is going to take a little time to get the bunkers back to perfect. Fortunately we have installed 75 tons of new sand in the bunkers over the past two months, so we are working on it! One area on one of the fairways has been damaged by the extreme heat and rain this summer, and it is being repaired this week! Summers are always hard in the Mid Atlantic region, but this has been a particularly tough one. Some great golfing and growing weather is coming up, so we look forward to seeing you back again soon! Under Repair
This is my home course and it is not in the shape I’m used to. The heat has definitely burned out several greens and a few fairways. I was surprised to see that it appears almost every tee box is under repair and they had several makeshift tee boxes in very odd places. There were turf mats to either drive from or par 3 and it was awful. There were probably 4 such setups. There were workers working on every tee box so I’m guessing that the tee boxes will be back to normal in a few weeks.
They should definitely mention the course situation at check in which they didn’t mention. There wasn’t a decrease in the rate either.
I absolutely love this course and would recommend it and do recommend it. Just needs a little time to get back in shape
So glad that this is your home golf course!! You should be ecstatic that we are investing so much money in your home course to make improvements that will last such a long time!! Leveling 14 tee boxes and installing 4 inches of mix along with beautiful new sod will be a great improvement for playing conditions! Fortunately, there are only a temporary tee on hole #7 and Hole #12. Just two temporary tees. Not four tees. Workers aren't at every tee box, but we have 58 tees on the course and that would a lot of workers indeed! With good weather, we should be in great shape in two or three weeks. Lots of Construction Happening
I love playing this course. On this day, it was warm and humid so staying cool was a challenge. Course conditions were rather rough with a lot of tee box construction going on. Some slow play encountered also. Fairways were beat up pretty good, lots of bare spots. Sand bunkers were also rough, stones around. So I've played this course in better conditions all around. But it's a good course and well run so we always have a good time here.
Can’t do much about the heat in Maryland in August! But 70’s and 80’s are coming this week! Five inches of rain in 90 minutes on Thursday has made for some challenging bunker repairs, but we are working on it! It’s been a tough summer this year for growing grass with the high heat and constant rain, but hopefully we are through the worst of it! The new tees, renovatied fairways and fresh sand in the bunkers will make for great playing conditions coming up! Be sure to try the crab cakes and burgers at the Grille after your next round!

Disappointing
Played this course at least 30 times. Worst shape I've ever seen it. Not worth the money. Staff couldn't have been friendlier though. Good people but course needs work.

Great Value
Great value. Starter made sure to keep groups moving. Got to go off a little early since a group didn't show up on time.
Pace of play was great!
Course was in great condition minus a couple of greenside bunkers that needed a little more sand.
Greens were tough. Started off no movement, then as the heat came in so did the breaks. Missed a couple of par putts due to the movement.

Beautiful course/SLOW pace of play!
The course was just beautiful. We had to wait at every hole for a slow group of 4 in front of us.
So glad that you thought the course was "just beautiful"! Really sorry that your pace of play was slow! We do have marshals on the course every day but even one group of inconsiderate golfers can really mess up the experience for all of the golfers on the course! Please give us another chance to get in a quicker round! And try out the burgers and crab cakes on your next visit! It'll make your experience that much better at Challedon!
