Acushnet River Golf Course is a Fine Place to Play
I played the Acushnet River Golf Course today. The course is in fine shape. Considering it is the Fourth of July, and there were foursomes on every hole, 4 hours and 45 minutes wasn’t that bad for 18 holes. I would definitely play this Course again.
Disappointed in Management
Is the course nice? Yes. We've played many times before and liked it. However, today there was a chance if a passing shower...no big deal, it is New England. Except a crazy storm popped up with over an inch of ran in 45 min. I feel like that is reason to give a rain check but nope, management said they don't do that. They took our $120 for 2 holes. Never going back!
Not following Covid 19 guidlines
Always enjoyed playing this course. However, the management needs to pay attention to the issues as not one person on the staff wore masks including the starter.
There were no guidelines regarding social distancing including the parking lot, waiting area for carts and the 1st tee. Also the carts were not sanitized properly. Prior to leaving I checked the solution used to sanitize carts and in my judgement it was "water".
This should be reported to Board of Health in the town of Acushnet as it is a municipal course.
This is one course that should be restricted to 15 minute intervals on tee times as we had to wait over 30 minutes due to overbooking and no rangers on the course to monitor play.
Not a fun day.
Hi, thank you for taking the time to review your recent round with us. We would like to apologize for the inconvenience that you experienced during your round as this is by no means the standard we strive for as we aim to provide a 5-star experience every time. Please know that we are doing our best to work in compliance with the current restrictions and maintaining proper social distancing. Our golfers health and safety is always our upmost priority. We hope that you will give us another chance to play Acushnet River Valley Golf Course in the future.
The covid 19 restrictions are strictly enforced at Acushnet River Valley GC. Outside staff wear masks and this can be seen on a daily basis. The golf cars are properly sanitized after each use. I know this for a fact as I play there weekly and personally know 2 employees. The disgruntled poster should come down to the course and ask for his face to be sprayed if he believes water is used to sanitize the golf cars. Some people honestly have nothing better to do but just make up nonsense.
Windy day
Played in a 10-20 mph wind. Made some of the holes more difficult than normal. All in all was a very nice round.
Will definitely go back.
Disappointed
This is simply a great golf course that is poorly run. They jam too many tee times together, and they start people off on the back nine while people are making the turn. Pace of play is horrendous. Don't play in the afternoon. And the starter can use a little personality, and a little organization. The course is a great value, but with value comes trade-offs.
Hello, thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With an uncharacteristically full day, we work hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course and allow our guest the chance to complete their rounds. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve by using your comments as guidance to do so. Thank you for playing Acushnet River Valley Golf Course. We hope to see you again soon.
Hidden Gem
Really love this course. Always very well maintained greens and fairways in fantastic shape with a magnificent layout. Currently practice greens and range are closed but in normal times would be available. Love how the course turns into a links style holes 12-17 adds a nice challenge and layout. Would be nicer if they added a bar and lounge but otherwise very worth the $$$.
The staff seems like they wished it was closed
Nice course, good conditions, good pace...staff blows...rude, inhospitable, took the fun out of it... "Look fellas, we know that this virus has screwed things up, but i'd like to play a round of golf without having to get attitude over it."
Hello, Brad. Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for your experience during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. We are going to escalate your feedback to our team so we can make improvements before your next game. We are glad to know you consider the course one of your favorites, and we will continue to work towards an excellent experience by using your comment for guidance. Thank you for playing Acushnet River Valley Golf Course. We hope to see you again soon.
A take of two nines
This was our first time playing at Acushnet and we really enjoyed it. In these days of walking only in Massachusetts because of our governor I can tell you it was pretty walkable. The front and back nines are VERY different with the first being typical New England golf with woods on both sides of every hole. From there the course completely changes as the back is wide open and the wind is the main element. The course was in very good condition with thick rough and very quick greens for this time of year. This is a real hidden gem in Massachusetts and if you’re putting together a Cape Cod/Plymouth golf trip maybe add this course to the list. The only drawback was the way they handled the cups for covid, the course had cup covers that were level with the ground so any put the went over them kept going.
Hello, Thank you so much for the great review. We are glad you had an incredible time, and we hope to see you again soon! Thanks for choosing Acushnet River Valley Golf Course.
Hard to find a real flaw in my book, unless you need a grand clubhouse experience
I have played a dozen courses in Scotland--Acushnet River Valley remains one of my favorites--great value at off-hour rates--well maintained--friendly place to join other golfers as a single
Great track solid conditions
This has become my go to course on the South Coast. The course is always in solid shape and is a very nice layout. It is walkable, pretty flat with a couple of longer walks between holes. Pace of play can get a little slow if you tee off after 10. Not much for facilities but that doesn’t bother me.
Black friday golf
course was in pretty good condition for end of november
I think that its time for them to build a club house and get out of the trailer also i had a coupon for free carts which they would not accept because they are in fall rates, but coupon good till 12/31/19 so did not like that.,but the golf was good.
Fantastic ARV!
This course never disappoints! I love the variety of holes. The course is always in fantastic shape, from nice flat lush tee boxes to carpet like fairways to perfect greens. I have nothing bad to say about this course. Played on a somewhat chilly November day and we saw very few golfers. Finished the round in 3:25, superb! A+ course that they take care of very nicely. It is one of my go to courses once the weather starts getting bad. Generous fairways if you like to grip it and rip it. Nicely paved cart paths too, no bumpy dirt/rocky paths on this course. Enjoy!!!
Course
Can’t believe this course is so nice this late in the year...greens ran beautiful....
Great Course for ALL Levels
I especially look forward to playing ACRV Golf Course whenever I get the chance to visit New Bedford. I REALLY enjoy the varied format ...front nine=hills & forest & back nine=basically links style. I am a senior golfer w/an approx. 14 handicap & generally find this course to fit well w/my capabilities. The course is usually in FINE condition when I visit in the Fall AND of course is especially colorful w/the seasonal colors of this time.
Always A Good Deal
Pay there all the time , fun for me ( I am a 13 ) to my son who is a 5. Woods on 1/2 and back 9 is a bit of a links setup . Great value , greens are usually in great shape , all around fun place

We are very sorry for the inconvenience you experienced at the course. Our goal is to provide our golfers with the most enjoyable golfing experience and we apologize if we missed the mark. As far as the weather during your round goes, we apologize the we were unable to give you a raincheck for the holes you did not get to play. Please feel free to reach out to our team in the pro shop for further resolution in this matter. We hope to be able to clear up any confusion and hope you give us another try in the near future.
There's a sign right on the window where you check in that clearly states NO RAIN CHECKS. Very typical for golf courses nowadays regardless of region.
