Good course to challenge you on every shot
Played on holiday weekend. Place of play was decent until the back nine. It is expected as the holiday weekend is always very busy. The course is demanding of the tee. If you are good off the tee your second shots will be easier because you won't have to fight the tall fescue areas and water hazards.
The tees were flat and well maintained. The greens were receptive and putt very nice. Some Suttle breaks on the greens that were sneaky but they were healthy and I enjoyed them. I did have to fix other ball marks. I like to make the course better than how I left it. Had a great time playing shot a 39 on the front and was +2 after 4 on the back side when we left. I Will definitely play there again.
Incorrect Hole Locations
I rely on my GPS to plan my shots. The course sets hole locations at 1, 2, or 3. Today they said holes are at location 2. That was true for about half the holes. irritating. they also said that aeration will be next week. Not so, the back nine had some already done.
Love This Course
I thought the course was, perhaps, in the best shape I've ever seen it. The fairways, greens, rough, etc. were all mown to perfect height. The greens were quicker than I'm used to but not too fast. The practice green had just been aerated so it took some time to get used to the greens. However, none of the greens were aerated on the course with the exception of the shot par 3, 16th hole.
Very nice course
I had a great time playing the olde Scotland course for the first time the course was in excellent condition the staff was very nice and the pace of play was great no complaints about this course 10/10 awesome
Fun and well conditioned
If you're looking for a fun place to play, here it is. Wont ever host a major but for an average golfer, it's fun and challenging and fair. Takes a trip to learn it but will come back.
Good fun vourse
The only drawback is green speed , which was around 7-8 on the morning I played. The greens are in very healthy condition and could easily tolerate the greens being cut to 10 stimp speeds. The course itself is very good, with a couple quirky par 4’s that were fun to play .
Always Great.
Wonderful and interesting layout instead of mundane up and back hole setups. Easy to walk unless exceptionally hot.
Course does need to provide water stations or a service cart. Also it’s now typical in early morning that tee off is on the 10th hole. Lots of walking to zig zag back to play the front nine. But over all a great course.
A good challenge!
The course was wet but playable. Everything in great shape from tees to fairways to greens. Rough is long and will catch your ball, bringing it to a dead stop. Several holes have a sinuous shape requiring accuracy AND distance to be correct. 4 operating tees go from short to very long, providing a range of challenges. All in all a friendly place with people (staff and fellow players) and a good challenge!
moved like a snail
Considering the amount of rain that golf courses have endured lately the course was in great condition. The only problem we had was with the pace of play. We had to wait on every shot. We have played the course in the past and had never encountered this pace of play. I think that one of the problems were that we had twosomes intermingled between foursomes. You should think of putting twosomes together to make foursomes and the pace of play may improve.
