About
Agawam Municipal Golf Course has been a favorite among local golfers since first opening in 1944. It has a traditional layout that offers a few challenges but it's still player friendly enough for golfers of any skill levels. The holes are fairly straightforward but the gently rolling hills provide some subtly tricky elevation changes. There isn't any water on the golf course but there are mature trees lining the fairways. While it may not be what you're looking for if you're an avid golfer who wants a truly formidable test, Agawam Municipal Golf Course is not to be under-estimated. The greens can be tricky to pitch to and accuracy will take you far. This municipal course is a great spot for a quick and casual round that's also affordable.

Not bad
For the price, it's a decent play. The greens are in rough shape, multiple shades of burnt and some dead spots. The fairways are mostly good with some unmowed spots near standing water. I decided to start walking courses and this was my first time here and first time walking, I wouldn't recommend it. I was the only walker I saw all day, and it's because this place is on the side of a mountain, or so it seems. Multiple holes with steep, steep inclines and greens 80+ ft above you. Odd layout, not my favorite course but I wouldn't say no if I was invited here.

The greens aren't the best (spongy and patchy), but tge rest of the course was in good shape.
