Nice Course
Course was Very nice. Yardage could be marked better . Had a little trouble with distanting. But over all Very Nice course.
Sad to see decline
I was a member of Shaker Farms in the 80’s when it was a private club. The course declined significantly when it went public. For the last several years I give the course one try each year to see if it has made a comeback. Sadly, the course is sorely neglected. Bare patches and weeds in fairway. Patches of dirt on some of the greens. I have always loved the layout but the course has fallen into disrepair and does not seem to be improving.
Very nice
Very nice course. I had a ton of fun.
I like when a course isn't using too many chemicals; and this course maintains a lot of the nature that surrounds the land.
Very fun. Longer front nine that feels more links-style and a fun back 9 that feels more resort-style.
I hope to play here more often.
Not worth your money.
The conditions of this course are abysmal, to say the least. I can't tell the difference between the fairways and the rough. Greens are terrible. Not easy to get around. It seems like people drive all over this course, with barely any car paths. The front nine have a lot of potential with three par 5's and huge dog legs. But the conditions are just terrible—a big turn off.
Great Course
Just starting to get back into golf again, Loved the course and the employees there. One of my go-to golf courses in the area
Fun layout!
The course has a very nice layout for any golfer. Conditions are a bit beaten. Tee boxes need work, along with some fairways. But for the price and layout it’s a Winner!
Great Course, Better Value
This course, hands down, was perfect. It had a great layout of each hole and had challenging hazards to keep you on your toes. Shaker Farms offers a putting area and driving range to warm up before you tee off. The staff were exceptionally friendly and very helpful with any and all questions. I will definitely be back to play or even become a member.
Nice Round.
Shaker Farms is not a world class primped course, but it is a great place to spend an afternoon; and the people and pricing can't be beat. The course has a lot of narrow fairways and requires patience. The fairways are rough in spots and a few greens were a bit bare of lush grass, but for the money it's a sure winner. And it is an attractive, fun, and challenging course. Enjoy!
Average course with good value
As a member of the Safari Club, western Mass premier golf group, I played Shaker Farms after several years of not playing this course. The conditions have definitely improved since the last time and now I would go back again. The greens were the best of the course. Tee boxes need additional work as well as some of the fairways. But that said, the layout is good and there are some truly challenging holes, especially No 17.
Great course - best in the area
To the staff of Shaker Farms Country Club:
I'm busting at the seams with appreciation and gratitude. Yesterday I was the administrator of a golf tournament at Shaker Farms Country Club. The event was a total success primarily because of the commitment to detail that the entire staff of Shaker Farms had to EVERY aspect of the tournament. From Rocky personally escorting the arriving participants to the club house, to Don and Bob directing players and answering questions, to the 'take charge' pro Eric Nelson who directed the entire format, to Ronnie who works so hard and diligently to maintain the highest quality of course maintenance, to chef Angel who can compete with Bobby Flay any day when it comes to food preparation and cuisine, and of course the owner of 'MY CLUB' Nancy who has truly, through the efforts of her hand chosen staff, made Shaker Farms Country Club the epitome of how golf courses should be run.
I implore any 'duffer' out there to come and experience the beauty, professionalism, and friendliness that the club provides. I've played many area golf courses and 'the Shake' offers natural beauty which is second to none!
Again, thank you Shaker Farms for making our day wonderful. Those who played have raved about the condition of the course and the outright surrounding beauty. You will see many of them again soon, I'm sure!
SO PROUD TO CALL SHAKER FARMS COUNTRY CLUB 'MY CLUB'!

Have You guys golfed before??
If anyone gives the conditions of this course positive reviews, this is the only place you've ever golfed. There is no such thing as fairways here, the grass is 3 inches high everywhere. The greens are mainly a sand trap, but where they do have grass, you might as well putt through the rough. For them to say this course is worth $56 on a regular day is a joke. Wouldn't play here again if they gave me a free membership. Hate to trash a course like this but if they are trying to convince people it's ever worth $56, come on...
Rough...
Seemed as if the course hadn't had a drop of water on it in weeks...it's part dirt, part grass. Hold on to your hat while driving the rodeo cart path...and check to make sure you have a cart with brakes before plunging down the hills.
Great golf course
Shaker Farms is a good course with some challenging holes. I will play there again soon.
Very poor conditions
I played here back in 2004 and the conditions were very good. Decided to try it again, and was extremely disappointed. Cart had NO brakes. The front 9 was in decent condition, certainly not great, but the back 9 was an absolute mess. One green literally had a sandpit in the middle of it. The staff seemed cool, and the young lady with the beverage cart was extremely friendly, kept coming back and checking on us every couple of holes, and was extremely attentive.
PROS- Large course, with a forgiving front 9. Staff was very nice. Love the deep woods location.
CONS- Horrible greens on the back 9. Extremely narrow fairways on some of the back 9, literally 30 feet on one- not good for a novice golfer. Carts were horible and old.
Course is a let down
I had heard great reviews in the past. After playing, I wouldn't golf here for free. The lack of finished cart paths. The fact that you can not distinguish the tee box from the fairway, orr rough for that matter. The overall shape of the course was a disappointment. The rates do not coincide with the condition or quality of this course. My cart died on 16. I walked the rest of the way and was not even offered an apology. No customer service at all from this establishment. Never recommended
