About
Agawam Municipal Golf Course has been a favorite among local golfers since first opening in 1944. It has a traditional layout that offers a few challenges but it's still player friendly enough for golfers of any skill levels. The holes are fairly straightforward but the gently rolling hills provide some subtly tricky elevation changes. There isn't any water on the golf course but there are mature trees lining the fairways. While it may not be what you're looking for if you're an avid golfer who wants a truly formidable test, Agawam Municipal Golf Course is not to be under-estimated. The greens can be tricky to pitch to and accuracy will take you far. This municipal course is a great spot for a quick and casual round that's also affordable.

Great course
Agawam is a great golf course as far as the conditions of the course go but pace f play was rather slow. Need a Marshall on the weekends
Great Value
Not a particularly difficult front nine but overall a well kept Muni that is close and fun to play. Since the Town took it over, the conditions have been greatly improved, but kept reasonably priced.
Great bang for the buck
I've played here many times over the years and the course is in the best shape it's been in that time. Only complaint is they overbooked the course and pace of play was a little slow.
Value for the Money
Played this course 3 times already this year, fairways and greens are well groomed. Great time on the course and is fit for any level of golf. Staff is very professional in every department.
Fast greens so don't be fooled by hole #2.
The price was right.
The pace was very slow. On the front nine balls are flying at you from everywhere which is a little uncomfortable.
Good course for the money
Needs some water on the greens, brown out. I thought the course was in good shape for the winter we had and the time the maintainance crew had to work on the track.
Great Early Season Conditions
The Golf Pro, Tony is very friendly and accomodating. The course conditions for coming off of a brutal N.E. Winter were in very nice condition and soon as the warm weather hits the course will be in real nice condition. the course is moderately challenging and the track is nice especially the back 9. The fairways are in nice shape and the greens were running nice for this time of year. I highly recommend you play this course great bargain!!!
Agawam Municipal on the rebound...
I played this course on Wednesday afternoon. They were charging $15 per player on golf now! What a deal! The conditions were good, the carts are new with GPS on them, and most of the leaves have fallen and been sucked or raked up... There is no better value for golf in Western Massachusetts than at Agawam. Oh by the way, my golf buddy, and I teamed up with 2 complete strangers who were very fun, and supportive of my below average game! How do you beat that?

Great Value Round
Municipal track that is in good shape, with new carts outfitted with GPS! Front nine is open and fairly easy, with the back nine more challenging. In late October, the weather is cool but comfortable, however you will lose balls if you stray off the short grass. Pockets of leaves that may not be blowed into the surrounding woods will swallow up that off center drive.
If you have not played Agawam, you should. You find a fun track with sociable course staff. The town knows it is competing with other local courses and is obviously trying hard to compete for your business.
I first started playing this course when I was in my 20's, back in the late seventies. The course has come a long way, resulting from hard work and friendly service.

Hidden Gem
I went with 3 friends with GolfNow coupon. I always wonder why people do not play this course more often. The price is always good and the greens and fairways are in great shape. They have a good bar, a deck overlooking the valley and another small restaurant in the clubhouse.
Nice Course !
The course was in great shape. The greens were well cared for and challenging. We appreciated the free water cooler set up on the back nine. Most places charge you a couple of bucks for a bottle of water.
Good Value and Good Time
We really did enjoy our 18 holes with a cart at Agawam Municipal. All for $25.00! Course was in good condition and pace of play was very good. Challenging greens but a very "user friendly" course overall. Will play again.
Worst golf outing of the year
Disrespected by rude, untrained pro shop staff. The kicker was when one of the employees assaulted a paying customer after receiving complaints about the dangerously undercooked hamburgers. Avoid this pit at all costs! Not even worth 15 dollars

Did not play very well on the front. My fault as my 2 playing partners did well. I did come back on the back side and had the low 9 there. Overall it was a good day with great weather, good friends.
Fantastic Muni!
I played during the week on a golf now for 19.99 with free coffee and a doughnut. The course was in good shape. Fairways and greens were in fantastic condition. I think they let a league out about half way through the round but I still got through pretty quick. The course gets significantly harder about hole 12 on. Its a complete change in the course. Fun course to play and is a tremendous value for 20 bucks. Carts have GPS as well!
Great value and friendly staff
Our foursome used the Groupon deal and we had a great time! The manager and PGA pro Tony Robert is very professional and made us feel welcomed. We will be back.
