Agawam Municipal Golf Course
About
Agawam Municipal Golf Course has been a favorite among local golfers since first opening in 1944. It has a traditional layout that offers a few challenges but it's still player friendly enough for golfers of any skill levels. The holes are fairly straightforward but the gently rolling hills provide some subtly tricky elevation changes. There isn't any water on the golf course but there are mature trees lining the fairways. While it may not be what you're looking for if you're an avid golfer who wants a truly formidable test, Agawam Municipal Golf Course is not to be under-estimated. The greens can be tricky to pitch to and accuracy will take you far. This municipal course is a great spot for a quick and casual round that's also affordable.

Challenges at Agawam generally require accuracy instead of strength. This short par4, the twelfth, exemplifies that idea. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 05/10/2026

thespaff's review
Did not play very well on the front. My fault as my 2 playing partners did well. I did come back on the back side and had the low 9 there. Overall it was a good day with great weather, good friends.
Fantastic Muni!
I played during the week on a golf now for 19.99 with free coffee and a doughnut. The course was in good shape. Fairways and greens were in fantastic condition. I think they let a league out about half way through the round but I still got through pretty quick. The course gets significantly harder about hole 12 on. Its a complete change in the course. Fun course to play and is a tremendous value for 20 bucks. Carts have GPS as well!
Great value and friendly staff
Our foursome used the Groupon deal and we had a great time! The manager and PGA pro Tony Robert is very professional and made us feel welcomed. We will be back.
Our round of 18 at Agawan
Excellent course....Wasn't too busy and very picturesque. Have now golfed there a few times and will continue to come back as we loved it !
Great Deal
Nice course to work on your game. GPS in carts was a plus. Groups moved along well. Course was in great shape!! I will be back!
The layout of the course & scenery is superb.
Course is in great shape.much better than a lot of courses in the area.
Nice course
First time playing here. Course was in great shape. Good for players like me that haven't perfected their game yet. Only lost one ball which is good for me. GolfNow price was real good. Will definitely try to talk grandchildren into going to Six Flags again soon so I can play this course again.
THE PRICE MATCHED THE COURSE
WE ARE NOT GREAT PLAYERS SO THE COURSE WAS FINE FOR US.
super value
Another awesome day...great value for the money..greens always in great shape and very tricky. Despite the lack of length the course is still always a challenge
Agawam
Course was in excellent condition. Staff was very friendly. Overall an excellent experience and an excellent value. My friend up from Florida played as well and spoke very highly of the round and the conditions.
A work in progress
I was quite surprised at the improved condition of this old time area track! The course Pro Tony, is a great guy, with plenty of experience, and makes everyone feel welcomed.
Beautiful Morning!
Enjoyed 18 holes with my teenage son. Great local course! Enjoy!
Mrs Murphy's Donuts
Course is in decent condition. Nice new golf carts. Pace of play was slow, course was very busy in AM due to special offering 18 holes, cart, and coffee and donuts. No coupons or special deals needed, just $20 between 7A-8A.
Symbol for meal included on Golf Now misleading, I do not consider coffee and donut a meal.
Easy course good for beginners
I thought the course was fairly easy and good for beginners. There really aren't a lot of areas you can lose your ball. If you slice or pull a shot you are usually just in another fairway. The course does not take rain very well and there are spots of thick rough where it is pretty easy to lose your ball.
A day of golf at Agawam Municipal Golf Course
My youngest son and I played Agawam muni on a hot and humid day. There was an ample breeze though. We were able to tee off early before our scheduled tee time. The fairways were green, the greens were in great shape, although some greens were slow due to ongoing watering during the day.
It was in great shape, the City of Agawam has done a great job keeping this course in good shape. Although not long, the back nine is tighter than the front nine. It is a great course for beginners, juniors and seniors. We both enjoyed it and will be back.
great value
The dollar value for this round was unbeatable
decent course challenging greens. The staff and food were good and the course was is good shape.
I will play it again
Ok value, but could use some improvements
Course was in just ok shape, likely partially due to the amount of rain during the previous several days. A lot of holes are right on top of one another so you get a lot of criss crossing groups. Course needs a starter. Each time I've played, there is quite a bit of confusion at the first tee due to not having a starter organizing things.
There's some challenging holds there
Not a bad course for the money I would definitely play there again
Nice New England Rolling Green Hill Course
Nice course with very decent tee boxes really nice greens. Bunkers were in good shape. The front nine was a pretty standard back & forth holes next to each other in a very open layout. Everything changed on #9 Par 3 with a beautiful 2 club steep uphill shot situated by itself in a beautiful setting. The back nine was in the woods with most holes distinct from the next. Beautiful green lush green rolling hills with interesting shots to set-up the next shot. Played with a local who really helped with local knowledge. I enjoyed it very much.
