Course is in good shape.
The greens and fairways are in good condition, some rough spots on greens. The appear to have survived the winter well. Plays long, good course to try some shots in your game, generous landing areas for drives. Greens are rolling fast and true.
Love
Favorite public course in Western MA. Great conditions and friendly staff
Early spring
The course was in exceptional condition ,for early spring golf, compared to my home course.
Great place
For a golf course just opening from a nasty winter it was very nice dry clean of most brush n leaves the greens had a slight top dressing but rolled really nice n true. Always a nice place to play.
Great Spring Golf
Course is in good shape for early spring and a fun day
Westover
Course was in very good shape. All team members I encountered were very accommodating. Great layout and fun course to play. Would recommend this course.
Greens were excellent!
Played my high school home course for 1st time in a decade. The greens rolled unbelievable truewhile being receptive but not soft. Lots of work done over the years to trim back many of the lower levels of bushes and underbrush. All the staff were friendly, play moved pretty well and it's still a course which rewards moving the ball right and left. It's just a solid, very playable, solid golf course.
Westover never disappoints
I always enjoy a round at Westover and this one was great - I was teamed up with three gentlemen who were welcoming and supportive. The conditions were as good as anywhere and the service on the course was top notch. Westover is one of the best public courses I have ever played.
Consistent good conditions
Good, reasonably long open course at a reasonable price. Superb coordination at the first tee ensures a well-timed even release of the tee times. No complaints at all.
Sold a reservation that was not available
This is a league course and I should have known better. But Westover and GolfNow both advertised an 18 hole booking and fully accepted a reservation. Only to get to the course and be told we can only play 9 holes due to league play. The gentleman at the desk, who was a gentleman and didn’t deserve my attitude, even knew “oh that’s one of the hot deals”! To which I replied yes it was. So he knows they market this to golf now and golf now now knows they are marketing something that’s plainly inaccurate. If GolfNow is to remain a valuable option for booking times they should have league schedules and should not be complicit in brazenly selling reservations that cannot be kept when golfers get to the course.
Solid Experience for the price
Booked my tee time about 4 days prior on Gold Now,having never played there before. Drove out from Albany. Staff was really friendly, and told me where everything was. Got some warm-up on the range (ball buckets are reasonably priced) and practice green. I'm not that good, so the course was slightly challenging, but not unmanageable. Using 18birdies, I was able to get the layout, and that helped with course management. I went out and a single, and got paired with 2 others. Pace of play got slow around hole 7, and we got backed up the rest of the day. When we hit the turn, we all enough time to run inside, hit the bathroom and grab some food/drinks, before the 4some in front of us even Reed off on 10. All 18 took about 5 hours.
I would play here again, but maybe a bit earlier in the day to try and beat some of the crowd.
