Ledges Golf Club

About
The Ledges Golf Club in South Hadley is tucked away in the Pioneer Valley, an area of western Massachusetts known for its lush, rolling hills. It is a favorite amongst locals since it is one of the best values in the region. The course enjoys scenic views that stretch to Mt. Tom and the Holyoke Range. It is on the shorter side at just over 6,500 yards from the back tees, but the dramatic changes in elevation make it seem much longer. Most of the greens are raised with steeply sloped sides, making accuracy essential since missing them by even just a few feet will result in a serious penalty. The golf course has a heavily wooded front nine that seamlessly transitions into a more open back nine featuring links-style holes. The Ledges is a shotmaker's course that offers several interesting risk-reward opportunities.

Ledges Number Four, Par 4, 276. The fairway is narrow, with precious little bail-out to its right. A driveable hole for the bold. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

# Nine, Par 5, 528. These bunkers will snare many an approach shot that is sliced or pushed. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The 10th is a classic downhill par-5 of 564; it’s a three-shotter for all but very long, straight hitters. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The massive bunker that sides green eleven could be a nightmare for those who aren’t all that handy with a sand wedge. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

Eighteen (from the left rough): Great finisher where you’ll want to avoid every one of the seven fairway bunkers, including these three. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

The final hole as seen from its right rough. Getting up and down around this green is no simple task. Photo submitted by AptlyLinked on 06/22/2022

Falls golf premier spot in Western Mass
Course was in amazing condition as always, pace of play was seemless and the scenery was awesome with the fall foliage setting in. Super friendly staff and I will play this course weekly until the leaves begin to fall!!!
Excellent experience
Great time with friends. Course is in excellent shape. Fairways ,greens very soft. Balls stick on the greens. A little slow but holds lines very well. Bunkers could use new sand, lots of small rocks. A couple of funky holes but all Courses have something similar. Pace was slow 4.5 hrs. Place was packed.
Always the best
My favorite course and I belong to two clubs one being a fancy private club. You can always expect great conditions and the holes are all unique and super fun. This can be a short course if you move up a tee or two so expect to hit alot of wedges and irons, that is another reason I love it, really gives you a through the whole bag experience. Payed $40 for 18 and a cart, my sushi in Amherst post round cost $90 so you do the math, just a steal. Not a big bar or food scene there post round so do yourself a favor and go next town over to Amherst and make an absolute day of it. Love you Ledges!
NICE
Everyone was friendly. Great pace of play do to a wonderful starter! It was wet because it had rained the day before. (Cart path only) But I was paired with some wonderful men and it was throughly enjoyable.I will be back soon.
Great Course
This is the 3rd time playing there this tear. It’s a great course . Its in fantastic shape. I always enjoy playing there. I’ll be back
Shaggy greens and poorly cut
I have/do played/play here on the regular over the last 15 yrs. The greens on Sunday were shaggy and when they were cut, it was done so poorly that the cut lines were affecting the ball path on putts (almost as if they’d been aerated, but it was mowing lines). Also consistently more expensive than other local options with not much reason to be.
Good condition as usual
Course was in exceptional shape as it was when I played 3 weeks ago. Pro shop was courteous and friendly and starter was as well. Played in a little over 4 hours which wasn't bad considering course was busy. Fairways were pristine but wish greens had a little more pace to them. Look forward to returning.
