Fun day
Got a hot deal on a holiday and enjoyed playing with two members. Everything was in great shape except a bit of disease on the greens. It seems to be on all the courses we’ve played this year- 3 other courses had same problem.
Would definitely play again and was an enjoyable walking course. Only one port-a-pottie on the course was the only real downer of the day but given the circumstances of the times, understandable!
In good condition fast greens, don't hold low shots. Bunkers fair. Wet and hard.
Nice Layout.
Enjoyable round played in just under 4 hours.
First time playing Halifax.
Everything is right in front of you
No guessing.
In good shape for this year.
Would like to play it again.
Nice to get out
Course is in great shape. They’re using the “cup jar lip above the rim of the hole Corona technique”, which is a bit annoying as you really can’t judge if a putt not hit dead center would actually fall...makes scoring a bit squirrelly (unless you’re happy to “score liberally”) Another course I played the other day actually cut pieces from a pool noodle such that when placed in the cup, the ball was allowed to fall into it but only went down about 3/4s of an inch or so. Was easy to retrieve your ball without touching the stick and didn’t affect play like the “jar above the cup rim’ technique did here.”
Challenging but fair
Greens are fantastic. It’s not hitting the ball, you have to actually stroke it. I’d recommend going to the puttting green before your round.
Off the tee... I wouldn’t say that it is 100% necessary to move the ball both ways but it is definitely to your advantage if you can. If you miss bad you’re gonna need your hooded 7 iron for the low punch out of the trees.
Into the green...if you can’t comfortably hit it Ski high, always land it short and let it bounce up...If there is no where to bounce it up...make sure not to short side yourself
Around the ground....work on your high soft shots...the ball hits hard and releases...soften the hands
I would definitely recommend this place.
Stay smooth.
Solid course
One of the better routings in the area. Impressed for my first time playing there. Didn’t see any Porto Johns on the course. Seemed like there was a mild bee infestation on the grounds of a couple holes. Otherwise a solid track. I’ll be making around trip back.
Semi private
Nice enough course. Was still a little snow and some standing water due to the time of year. Lot of people out playing so we waited on just about every shot. Would like to go back when it’s more “in-season” so I can get a better feel.
Halifax Country Club Review
the golf course was in amazing shape and the overall layout of the course was fun as it was challenging and rewarding at times. the price is decent and I would definitely come back.
Good course, but a bit pricy compare to other golf courses
Green was good 4 star
Fairway was soggy and ball was not rolling 3 star
Practice range available for free 4 star
Enjoyed back 9holes more than front 9holes, because it was more challenging. Specially 10th hole over the water.
Fun to play, but a bit pricy.
Birdman
The day we played the course was quite wet greens were in good shape but slow because of the wetness it’s a nice layout but would not play there again after a lot of rain
