When I saw the weather report and Waverly Woods’ availability, I jumped. How can you beat almost 60 degrees, sunny, and barely a breeze at the beginning of winter for a round of golf? But the course had to match or beat the weather if you’re going to enjoy the outing playing your favorite sport. You know they maintained that course when there were no leaves to push out of the way on the greens and none to hide your ball even on the rough. So, what else is left to celebrate? The pace of play of course. You would think that 3 better than average players would be stomping over the foursome in front of them constantly. Nope. I don’t think we caught up with them more than a few times and finished the round in barely passed 4 hrs. The only damper to be mentioned was the aeration that took place about 2 weeks earlier which took way very little from the overall great experience of the day. Hats off to the friendly staff and the management for keeping the course enjoyable even in early winter.

Our round was today. Waverly woods is a great course, up with whiskey creek and bulle rock. The course was in excellent shape, really challenging. We played our round surprising fast for a day with gorgeous weather. The gentleman on the course who helped me look for my ball in a stream (John... Ron... Don?) was very helpful and we saw him several times during the round. He didn't have to do that but he did. Nice to see a marshall on the course even in winter. Greens were fast even though they had been done, and the fairways RUN. I appreciate the gps on the carts.

Greens were just aerated but were still in good condition. It’s a challenging course and always in good shape.

Great public golf course. Was windy and 70 degrees. Good times were had.

We played on December 2. It was about 55 degrees. We enjoyed the round. We teed off a little before 1 and got all 18 holes in with some light to spare. We never expected to play in under 4 hours at 1 PM with as busy as it was, but we did. Good job keeping things moving. Course is clearly in winter mode, but in generally good shape.

I have been playing this course for the past 8 years and have never been disappointed. The staff is great and the course is just the right mix of fun and challenging. This Thanksgiving will be the second year in a row that I will be playing in their shotgun start event. I think it will stay a tradition as long as I can play.

Course was beautiful on a warm fall day. Very good experience all around.

If from Howard county, drive an additional 15 minutes to a bordering county municipal and pay half the price. Staff is either passive aggressive, rude, or just kind of slow. Course is decent, don’t get me wrong. But the price they pay is comical. This is at best a decent municipal, but is believed to be a country club by its management. I just prefer a more realistic approach. As a former superintendent, The super intendant here is terrible. He struggles constantly with course management.
